"one-third of the Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia reimbursement credits being returned each month to the CITY's Water, Gas & Light Commission", The take over has started and that means More funding for another pipe dream. It just FREE money we taking from WG&L why not waste it.
The "Free" money will be used as incentives to draw business and industry to Albany......Just how is EDC going to attract NEW business when they believe Phoebe is the Great savior for Albany's economic development?
The uncertainty surrounding the fate of Phoebe North is a hindrance to economic development in the metro Albany area. OYES that is the problem, surely it has nothing to do with the available work force or their education or even the Leadership of the Albany and DOCO Commissioners. The driving forces of economic development are avoiding Albany because we don't have a Mega Hospital with rates higher than the national average. Yep that's got to be the reason.
Sounds like someone besides me grew up working at the Gillionville Stockyard. Flash backs of shoveling comes to mind.
Commissioner John Hayes, who sits on the Hospital Authority of Albany-Dougherty County, recommended the action at the commission's business meeting. No conflict of interest here. Never mind what would be in the best interest of improving local health care and reducing that cost.
Novel idea. Lets decide how much it would cost to build the apartments and restore the theater. Put that money in the bank. Then pay each person $50 when they come downtown and purchase $100 or more from a downtown merchant. The interest along will pay more than enough to fund the "discount ".
@ Lt. William Conway....... Thank you for trying. While you were not required to help, in your heart you knew it was the right thing to do. Next time you could be successful and it will mean the world to the family of the one you save. Thank You for trying.
When you think about it, who is responsible for the revenues that support the school system? We, the TAXPAYERS of Dougherty County.
When you think about it, who is responsible for the attitudes of the students and the school administrators and their leadership? YOU the parents of the Dougherty County School System.
The taxpayers were getting short changed you said nothing, now the heat is on to improve because of Mosley and you are claiming it is not fair.
