None of that will happen. The most that can happen is for Phoebe to be ordered out of the old Palmyra building and to pay some stiff fine. Meanwhile the Palmyra building will sit unused. I don't disagree about the lack of adequate patient care, nor about the fraudulent billing practices, nor about the high cost and lack of availability of care. However, as a practical matter, the toothpaste is out of the tube and it ain't going back in.
Further, I challenge anyone to find a Phoebe physician or senior administrator who doesn't take in between $300,000 and $3 million a year. They simply have the money and the clout to do anything they want to this community... except provide affordable care.

Does anyone actually believe that the merger will be undone? Obviously that isn't possible and since its a civil administrative issue, no one will go to jail either. What exactly do those who oppose the merger expect to happen? What specifically do they want to happen if the FTC prevails?
They should all listen to Mr. Crowdis. He seems to be the only one with any sense of what the community requires of this commission.
He insulted the wrong people. Last we read about him in the Herald, I believe the article said he defaulted on his debts and was living with his mother.
Worst idea ever. You could put a Paula Deen RESTAURANT in Albany and it would fail.
I wonder who he means by "non-profits" which don't pay their share? Is it many, or just one?
I wonder why they refuse to represent their constituents?
For those who haven't figured this out yet, preachers are the single least-honest group in society. Law enforcement types are a close second, followed immediately by politicians, lawyers, hospital administrators and bankers.
See - there IS a bright side to the DCSS cheating scandal. Graduates of other school systems know not to call the cops when they own a grow house.
