Albanite 1 year ago on Guitar deity Clapton offers believers a birthday treat

People who don't know anything about music consider Clapton a "deity." Those of us who actually DO know music know that Clapton is a hack-actually. His playing isn't even technically proficient. You want technical profiency among Clapton's "peers", look at Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, SRV, Joe Bonamassa, even Joe Walsh. I can outplay Clapton - and I'm a drummer.

Albanite 1 year ago on Marriage equality in Georgia matters to me

Marriage between a man and a woman isn't "top-down". It is a protection offered by the government for the economic and social unit that produces children. This issue, a supreme court case involving just 8 homosexual couples, has taken a national spotlight because so many homosexuals want what their parents and society have denied to them... someone to say that homosexuality is normal and acceptable. Since society won't, since religion won't, since the law won't... they are desperate for the courts to proclaim them "normal." Every society in history marks the beginning of its collapse at the point when homosexuality became acceptable and the importance of the heterosexual-family unit became dimished. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Factually, most people did not buy what McCain was selling. Most people bought what Obama was selling... leading us to the disaster we have today.

Albanite 1 year ago on Businessman surprised by skate park request

Perhaps Mr. Rosen has just learned a little something about business in the real world. Being born on third base isn't even close to the same as actually hitting a triple on your own. Learning to deal with government absurdity - and being experienced enough to handle it gracefully - is all part of being in business.

This is either a ridiculous waste of resources or, more likely, a government property grab under the color of law - or both.

You may as well get out the city checkbook to cover the default. If nothing else, this proves that Albany would be better off with no city commission at all. Can we just convince them to stop meeting? That way they can't keep screwing up.

How about just cutting out excessive spending? Lose this mindset that government has to take care of people. People will take care of themselves when - and only when - they realize that they have to.

Since you removed it, I'll say it again! It is the CEO's job to make sure that the regulatory approvals are in place before such a move.
Imagine the results if the surgical teams did as poor a job of due diligence before a procedure and simply disregarded the rules before operating on a patient because it improved profitability.
