@KaosinAlbany: Didn't call you racist. However, "ye protest too much," hummmm? Your singling out of the four either suggests that you can't read or maybe you are what you felt when you read my comment - the report is clear! The "Board's" behavior still persists! At any rate ignorance and homework is exactly what I'm speaking about. Maschke is no choir boy to the practices of the Board. It just depends on who's looking and what period you want to reference. How did Maschke vote when selecting the incompetence that abdicated her role to the Board of Education and simply collected a FAT check for the past decade. The kind of leadership vacuum that the investigators described suggests a whole system on auto-pilot for a whole generation (10+ years). You talk about doing my homework - There has been NO school going on in DCSS for a long time! Additionally, let's stay with the facts of the report. The entire Board should be replaced by the governor - immediately! Maschke has not earned any special immunity! He is an insincere micro-manager and has not questioned any of this leadership vacuum in the past years. They all need to GO - individually and/or collectively they are not good for our children!

Give us all a break! The man (Mr. Edwards) is a professional and is tasked with the responsibility to be accountable to us who elected him into office. Thank you for your systematic and thorough review of the matter and not just acting like a 'hot head' as suggested @LuLu and carter1971. We appreciate and respect your honesty and expect that you will act according to the ethics of your office. Those who know you and love our city know that you will announce what the next steps are to be once you have checked with those governing offices that handle this kind of wide-spread debacle.

It pains most of us who either know some of these people; have had children who sat under their teaching and/or administration or who have had to work for these people, But there must be swift and fair justice for all. ... But most of all for our children! However, be cautioned that It will be very difficult to prosecute these people in our county because knowledge of them all is so vast. How could we seat an impartial jury - if there needed to be jury trials? How long would these cases back up our already over-extended court system? And at what cost to the taxpayers of this county? Where will the $$$ come from for substitute teachers while we pay these folks their salaries who must be put on paid leave while awaiting trials -they all have contracts and are innocent until proven guilty? What kind of substitutes will be in the classroom to provide services to our children as they prepare for 2012 Testing? Not all have confessed, you know! Is it correct that there is a $9 million dollar need in the system now - asking for SPLOST funds to be re-classified? People rather than insisting on 'hot head, knee-jerk' reactions, we'd better Pray and I mean really Pray! See we've held on to all kinds of '-isms' and wrongdoings in this town... much too long! I'm not sure whether or not the cancer of wrongdoing which started when the Board attorney and Board played hocus-pocus, a decade ago and started us down this road of incompetence and shame. Now there is enough blame to go around. We have lost a generation of children (10 years) under an administration that according to the report collected FAT checks while NOBODY was stirring the ship! This is a sad day in southwest Georgia! And citizens we have ourselves to blame! What will we do other than SQUAWK! SQUAWK!

@KaosinAlbany You are showing what some may think is your racism by suggesting that only Riggins, Bush, Griffin and Williams should be removed by the governor. Maschke was on the Board during 2009 also. As a matter of fact, read the report WELL, the same climate continues to exist! Let's remove the entire Board. A Clean House at the first of the year sounds nice! Since everybody seems to be more concerned about the poor people losing their jobs, let's reconstitute the Board, get a real superintendent with his/her own cabinet and let's get busy with educational reform in Albany. We can do it!

I am not suggesting that we allow administrators who cheated to stay on board. Those administrators who just did not have a clue or looked the other way-not getting involved are not leaders at all. They MUST go! Children must know that if you don't stand for something; you'll fall for nothing - and FALL THEY MUST! Just to think we pay these people more than $100,000.00 each. Unthinkable in the business world. 6-figures and they had NO KNOWLEDGE!

Also, teachers who prompted students, encouraged students during the test, or just down right told students the answers - MUST BE REMOVED. These children must never again see people who taught them to cheat. Especially at West Town, OMG! As a matter of fact, these teachers MUST be removed for the children's sake! The children must know that crime DOES NOT PAY!
