I won't take issue with the point, because it is a no-brainer.
But I would point out that leaving an automobile unlocked is in itself irresponsible.
Automobiles are stolen and used to commit crimes, including robberies and unlawful flight from the police, which places the public at risk and usually ends in accidents with injuries.
With the liberty to own and use automobiles comes responsibility, as well.
