As far as I know there have been two marquees there. The first was smaller and has been gone for decades. The other was removed a few years ago. What became of it? Was it sold or trashed?
It is a historic building worth saving in my opinion. Too much of our history is gone and our pride went with it. I was under the impression that the entire theater section would be demolished? We only spend money on housing the poor from all over the country now, not much goes to save the little that remains of a once great and fast growing (now shrinking) town. Example: The Broad Avenue Memorial Bridge, Radium Springs Casino, The Rawlings Opera House (Liberty Theater) and I hear soon the Holman Mule barn and so many more. Is NOTHING scared here?

"We're fortunate to have a mechanism in place that allows us to help provide decent housing without utilizing General Fund dollars. By working jointly, we're able to maximize the impact we can have on the community."
We ARE an entitlement community and we will remain one BECAUSE we build more and more housing with federal funds which forces us to take in the poor from all over the country. Welcome to "Po'Ville."
The Industrial Arts building is on the west side of the street. Not hugely used by Tech students. A lot is rented out for Work Ready and training classes for private businesses like National Electronic Warranty did when they were there.
$5 a year? Are you serious? These types of deals must stop. This is a publicly owned facility. Is $5 a year a good return on my tax dollars? Oh and it would no longer be open to the general public? No way!

Money better spent elsewhere I would think. Why does Sherwood have to be the biggest at everything?
