Engineer 1 year, 5 months ago on Hostess, the maker of Twinkies, Ding Dongs and Wonder Bread, is going out of business

Well, I guess if there is any bright side to this, it could be a good thing for southern Georgia. After all, one of their largest competitors, Flowers Foods, is based out of Thomasville. It makes me wonder if they or some other company will try to purchase some of the product lines from Hostess (I'm fairly certain somebody will try to purchase and produce the product because of the product name recognition). I guess there is always a chance that they might purchase some of the bakeries to expand distribution and maybe hire some of the workers, although I would assume as non-union. Who knows, we'll have to wait and see.

I saw that vuvuzela.... that sound, it is probably 2nd only in terms of rage-inducing to the sound of nails on a chalkboard.

It's a shame that most of our oil is shipped elsewhere because most of our refineries are set up to process Saudi oil instead of our own.

What I'm more interested in is if they are closing the drive-thru teller location too? Because when they closed the BoA location at the corner of N. Slappey and Dawson, they kept the drive-thru teller location open.

"The post office has got to somehow improve attitudes of staff, services etc."

I'm not really sure why you would say that. I go to the Downtown Post Office pretty often, and the staff there have always been polite and helpful with me. That's one of the reasons I like going to that location.

I routinely use that post office location. I hate to see this happen.

Same thing for me. When they got rid of the lunch buffet (I mostly went for pasta), I took my business elsewhere.

Engineer 1 year, 7 months ago on Heritage only Albany-based company on list of Top 100

If this is the case then why not do something about there being Heritage Bank of the South, and The Heritage Bank. They are two separate banks with nearly the same name and both cover parts of South Georgia. I dunno, if I were in their position, I'd be worried about brand recognition.
