So that is the best you can come up with? Churches are business? When Jesus was 12, He stated, I must be about My Father's business? Can anyone these days tell me what that business is? Before you answer, ask yourself this, "How many people did I witness to last week? How many people did I invite to church last week? How many backslidden Christians did I call on last week?" And I am not talking about the affluent or well off, I am talking about people like me...the kind most people refer to as trailer park trash....

While this squawker may be an athiest, I am not. And the very reason given in this squawk is the reason I no longer no to church. Tired of seeing people thump themselves on the chest and brag about how Christian they are, when the example Jesus set was not only being a Christian but DOING Christian--you know helping those who need help, regardless of the circumstances, no questions asked. There are a whole lot of people who sit in churches on Sunday that is going to bust hell wide open...

I remember Mayor being so against the Civic Center that he told the powers that be NOT to put his name on it...Should have let the flood of 94 wash the damned thing away. At least insurance would have paid for it.

The statement about my heart breaking is because I have never missed the Indian Festival but this year I am missing because I can't afford it and the powers that be don't give a rat's a** about those of us in this boat. I care nothing about going to the animal park--just wanted to meet the Native Americans.

Small area? Are you referring to East Albany in general or the trailer park/neighborhood? I notice nothing was mentioned about the drive by shootings that occurred on the west side of town (three in twenty four hours) which left two dead. THAT is the other TWO MURDERS (one neighborhood one night one drive by) that goes with this one. To single out one particular neighborhood is unfair.

Well, as much as I would like to attend, simply cannot afford gas to drive to Chehaw and then spend am additional $22 for my spouse and I to get in. Whatever happened to the average family being able to go to things like this? Breaks my heart I can't go....
