Well done! Thoughtful and pretty much on target. I would have added a comment about the political fiefdoms within the civil structures which I believe thwart development in all aspects of community life. Absent the dynamic created with the election of Lane Price on the school board, there is no civic or business leadership in Albany. Folks who have used Albany for advancement have either moved to Atlanta or retreat to their plantations.
That's what you think. Stand on any corner of Jefferson or Monroe from Broad Street to Seventh Avenue at AM or PM rush hours and count the cars. Take a look see at the city, county and courthouse activities.
Now go out to Lee County toward Dawson where SB&T has moved their banking headquarters and service center, count the cars and observe the activities. You'll get bored very quickly. Nothing to compare to their former location.
The movie theme of build it and they will come, well that was just fantasy talk for a make believe movie. Just like your observation, it just ain't so.
What a bunch of self-preening baloney. The entire article is just a collection of fragmented generalizations strung together without any rational structure. Nothing makes any sense with evidence or reason presented. If students ignore the current dress code what will guarantee they will follow an even more stringent uniform code and make good grades, become disciplined, take baths, cease bullying, etc. etc. What a bunch of hooey! You people swallow tripe like that as if it were written on the Mosaic Tablets. Enforce the dress code that exists. Demand discipline or have the parents come get the child and take them home. Remove disruptive students from learning environments. Hire teachers and principals who know their subject matter and how to teach. Reduce class sizes to manageable levels. Employ central staff who know how to read and write and are not just looking for a gravy train. Get the corrupt politics out of system administration. Use the money for relevant materials and texts and cut out paying for motivational speakers and D. Sabb’s bullship. There are no quick fixes and adding a layer of rules and expenses for uniforms will do nothing but harm.
Just as I suspected you completely misquoted and used his reference to service completely out of context. The question to you is do you actually understand what is printed in the paper or are you so intellectually dishonest that you continuously try to set up blacks to then knock them down with specious arguments?
The above thread is clinical evidence of mass psychosis discussed by Sigmund Freud and ignorance on the scale described by Erskine Caldwell.
" . . . after former superintendent Joshua Murfree bowed out." His contract wasn't going to be renewed so he left 6 months early.
How is it that Ed Rynder's is always coupled with an analogy involving a SHIP. Ole Capn Eddie is still trying to turn that vehicle tax skow around he signed up with in the spring. The he helped turn that Phoebe legislation around over night. I wonder how ole Capn Eddie is doing for the taxpayers.
It is a very good article and thanks for including it. I rather think the estimation of a turn around in 3-5 years is somewhat optimistic on the part of the temper super.
Vladimir Lenin certainly agreed. It was one of the two main principles of socialism and became the slogan for the Communist Party until the demise of the USSR. Very ant-capitalistic principle here. No free enterprise. Sorry.
Puts you in good company, eh Sis. Well, I always say, "birds of a feather flock together."
By the way, your declaration that "God Said It!!" ain't so either. Strongly believed to be a Pauline letter but could have been one of several others.
" it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth (and with a mean judge)"
This is an excellent column and an outstanding message from President Obama.
It would be nice if it were shared in every school, public and private, in the United States.
Would you provide a reference for John Hayes' statement?
