let me get this right... Betty doesn't get her way, quits her job early (http://www.albanyherald.com/news/2012...) and yet her praises are being sung? Not everybody in Lee County was sorry to see this woman leave the Lee County Tax office and not all of them are sorry to see her leave the Board of Commissioners either. Also, she was not "serving" -- she was a PAID employee.
People may have loved the food and the service at the Jefferson location, but it was the little things that kept us from coming back -- things like the cheap plastic forks and flatware, cheap rough thin paper napkins, the plastic plates, the mismatched tables and chairs that were incredibly uncomfortable... It was the chintzy-ness of the management that spoke volumes of their commitment -- or lack there of -- to the Jefferson venue that caused it to fail. I remember the food as being just okay -- the thing I remember most about the food was the pool of grease at the bottom of the plastic basket of fried pickles.
Wondering why they are duplicating services as Mission Change has had publicized plans to serve the downtown needy on Thanksgiving Day from 10-noon. If indeed this group spoke to their areas nonprofits, wouldn't they realize this? The Drey Line (where lunch will be served) is only a few blocks from the Friendship Missionary church. Why not just join in and support the existing efforts?
amen, sister! I have had numerous Yankees call me and put me on speaker phone just so my southern accent can be broadcast for all to hear. If I know that is what they are doing, I pour it on Thick and SLOWer than ever!
Not all Lee County tax payers agreed with NOT supporting TSPLOST or NOT adding the garbage fee to our yearly tax bill. He has accomplished a lot during his time on the board -- VOTE FOR RICK MUGGRIDGE!
The Dougherty County School System is a shining example of why a YES vote should be cast for Charter Schools! People are elected for a school board based on the color of their skin and FISH FRYs!? REALLY PEOPLE?! Incompetent, questionable people are KEPT on the school board and in positions of leadership because once elected, it is hard to get rid of them! VOTE YES to Charter Schools!!
