Apparently our domestic media is so far in the tank for Obama they can’t bring themselves to report anything that might make his administration look bad. This editorial from the Herald goes some way towards making an apology for the IRS actions by expressing concern that the law for 501 (c) 4 organizations doesn’t require they disclose donations from the Koch brothers. What a horror that is for progressives! If a reader didn’t already know that the IRS is part of the US Treasury, of the executive branch of government, and that president Obama is responsible for its leadership and its actions, they would never learn it from this article. The president’s press secretary said today that Bush appointed the IRS commissioner. So they’re covered on this, by blaming Bush, but I doubt few outside the sock puppet media will buy that. The only name mentioned in this article who could be held responsible is a civil service executive who claimed the whole thing was started by a bunch of low level workers at the Cincinnati IRS office, almost as a prank that got out of hand, and she also said that she wasn’t very good at math. All in the same press conference. You’d have a hard time writing fiction this humorous. Now the president himself has gone on camera to say he will be outraged if it all turns out to be true. It was like watching Captain Renault in Rick’s café being shocked over the gambling.

Rode my bike downtown this Sunday around 11 AM. Place was a ghost town. Lots of traffic on Oglethorpe but people were just driving through. Only thing happening was church service.

Let’s put gay men in positions of responsibility in the Scouts and see if the Catholic Church’s experience with gay priests who molested hundreds of boys and cost the church Billions as a result will repeat itself. Good idea you have there Mr. Hinshaw. Sponsors of the Scouts will flee because they don’t want to see their contributions being used to fund a more modern version of NAMBLA. While you’re at it, why not demand that the Boy and Girl Scouts combine their organizations? Since sexual preference doesn’t seem to matter when it comes to Scouting, please explain why any division of sexes in Scouting should be maintained.

When this squawker hears bad things said about president Obama you can tell their feelings are deeply injured. Dubya’s supporters were not and are not emotionally involved with his popularity polls. Call Dubya whatever you please. It won’t make you feel any better about yourself. And you’re showing that Obama’s supporters have the emotional maturity of a 5 year old. Also, please keep in mind that this is the Squawkbox and not a children’s sandbox. Thank you.

LoneCycler 1 year, 7 months ago on Obama's 'red line' blurred in Syria

First of all, this entire talk of a red line is meaningless with this administration. President Obama never heard of a “red line” before Israel PM Netanyahu showed him what one was, and that was in relation to Iran, not Syria. In closing the article states “neither can we turn our back on our allies.” Please explain who these “allies” of ours in Syria are. The only thing going on here is that Obama is trying to figure out how to not look like Clinton did when he stood idly by while 800,000 people were murdered by Hutu death squads in Rwanda in a few months of 1994. Obama doesn’t care about foreign policy; or the politics of the middle east. His focus is on transforming America into a socialist state. On the Syrian civil war the president is once again “leading from behind.”

Mr. Blackshear’s first mistake was to propose for profit housing development with private capital. His second was to situate it in an area where long term property owners of a formerly exclusive neighborhood are seeing it deteriorate. On top of all that, what family would buy an overpriced house in Doublegate now knowing that if they bought a house even two miles away they could send their children to schools in Lee county instead of the criminal academies in Dougherty county? Besides all this the City commission only appreciates publicly financed housing projects with no hope of return on taxpayer investment. These commissioners aren’t going to tweak voters in NW Albany for the financial interests of someone like Mr. Blackshear, who might as well have been an invader from Mars, attempting what he did. He must not be from around here?

LoneCycler 1 year, 7 months ago on U.S. Believes Syrian Government Used Some Chemical Weapons

President Obama claimed that if the Syrian government used WMD they would be passing a “red line” where the US would become more involved in the conflict. But not to worry, there will be yellow, green, black and blue lines that also have to be crossed before any real action, other than having John Kerry write a harsh letter to the UN, is considered. At the end of the day we’ll probably just send more tanks and airplanes to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and hope that solves the problem.

Kudos to the ADDU who did not let this incident escalate into a deadly high speed chase. We've seen enough of those here. They'll find this man sooner or later.

LoneCycler 1 year, 8 months ago on If nothing else, ‘Racist’ generates dialogue

The song is not worth listening to and the sentiment expressed in it by Paisley and Smith (Ladies Love Cool James) is superficial at best. The confederate battle flag has been stigmatized to the extent that displaying it on a t-shirt or anywhere else means you are racist and think black people should be slaves. The battle flag was flown only by military units and is respected today because it represents the lives men sacrificed during the civil war. The image of the confederate battle flag was replaced in the Georgia State flag by a representation of the Stars and Bars. If anyone is upset by seeing the confederate battle flag flown, they should be doubly upset by seeing the current Georgia state flag flying. Remove the state of Georgia symbol inside the ring of stars and it is an exact replica of the Stars and Bars; the flag used by politicians of the civil government of the confederacy who were racists and thought blacks should remain slaves. Paisley and Smith are quite ignorant but in their defense they are just trying to make a buck. There’s no reason to get upset, by next month this song will fade into obscurity where it belongs, and we can all forget worrying about being racists because we think wearing saggy trousers is wrong.

The words “there’s nothing you can do about it” reminds me of the time when I was 5 years old and another kid on the beach had the plastic shovel and wasn’t willing to share. I didn’t argue. I was just surprised that someone could think that a plastic shovel was so valuable. A lot of Obama supporters strike me the same way that kid did. Just because they have the shovel and you don’t doesn’t mean you have to be sad or worry or stop your efforts to succeed. Let them keep the plastic shovel. Let them be happy. Maybe they’ll even run off down the beach with it so they can slobber on it in private like that kid did. This allows you the time to use your own hands to build the two story sand castle with attached garage for a Mercedes Benz fire truck and a swimming pool for dolphins out in the back yard. Life is short. You should try to enjoy it. Don't let the shovel coveters ruin it for you.
