Fugitive Bobby Smith captured December 9, 2013
OKAY GA Tech, when will you give Zenon his break. Has he not paid his dues? Is he still a part of the team. I haven't heard anything or late about this young man from Deerffield, who chose Tech over so many other offers. Of course a quality education is the best deal, but really wanted to see him in action on the screen.
Good Job Young ladies. Coach Hatcher is doing a great job. So proud of you.
Mr Taylor, he is at risk to the community. I am certain that he needs a job, but driving. In fact you need to put something in place wherein citizens can report officers that drive reckeless. I've been on the highway or raod and see a policeman fly by me at a high rate of speed, and I am thinking, what is down the road... often times, I found NOTHING. Some policemen used their vehicle to hurry to lunch, home, to park, or to get off duty. Please don't put this man back on the highway, if you do, I am no doubt you will regret it eventually. The signs are there...would you give an alcoholic another drink, and tell him to drive home? Would you give a drug addict , drugs? Will you leave your wallet out with money in it in from of a know thief? DO NOT PUT THIS man behind the wheels of a vehicle that is own by taxpayers. Yes, taxpayers own those vehicles, and if the city is sued, it is taxpayers that will reap the repercussions. But, more importantly, you do not want the injury or death of a human being on your conscious. The officer has earned his right, NOT to drive. Your job is also to help protect the community. I am certain that there is something that he can do. Don't fire him, but take him off the street in public vehicles. Now, what he does in his private personal time is his business. But, there is another accident to come, let it be in his own personal automobile. There are too may so called laws that protect police officers when people are injuries or killed as a reuslt of their actions.
Then someone needs to get a word out to the white community and people like billybob that black people name their children just as whie folks name theirs. Furthermore, it won't matter if the black childs name is Marybeth or sue-Ellen, or Gracie Mae, Ellie. Fitzwalker, or Abdul, thir skin pigementation will always lay a part, especially with people with your mind-set. Instead of reading the story and celebrating the success of it, some must speak something negative, which si sad because the story is not about any one naming their child. AND maybe, Ishmachelle, could be name after a granfather, Ishma, and grandmother Michelle, and the two names were combined for one name for the child. If you are not a part of the black community, apparently not, by your racist statement, then you would not know what could be behind a child's name.
I think the case should continue and let the process takes its course. Okay, the woman is on trial, let him the witnesses and evidence. Although her children may have gotten 'free" lunch, the question is, did Riggins fill out the application with the "intent" to get free lunch for her child(ren), knowing very well that she did not qualify? Now, IF she completed the application in the office, wrote Girl Scouts, and got distracted, which is possible and did not complete it and unfortunately it got submitted, is she really at fault. Now according to some of the evidence, Riggins completed another application and included all information with a month or so. Now, whether she knew or not that her child was eating free is another thing. But, I do know of a parent that filled out an appilcation, never heard anything as to whether it was approved or not, and was sending borrowing and fixing lunches for her child. She did this until her child told her that she was eating two lunch everyday. After questioning the child further, the little one was eating free lunch at school and whatever was in the luch box. But, let the jurors hear the case and let the system runs it course. If she did so with "intent", evidence will be produced. There are too many families that need the service than for someone who doesn't need it to get it. However, the system and problem needs to be fixed.
My prayers goes out to her family. I didn't visit the library often, but she had such a beautiful smile. Rest in peace.
Cell phone and texting has resulted in 0 verbal commuication. People now are texting everything. Family members text each other when they are in the house at the same time, rather than call out to the person, or go and tell them what you want or need. There are strict laws regarding teen drivers, which includes texting, but imagne a father or mother teaching their son or daughter to drive, but the parents text when they are under the wheels. Do as I say, and not as I do, seems to be the message. I do think that out of respect for others especially at weedings, and funeral services, show some respects. But, in a church service, one needs to be careful with assuming, because people are now able to download the Bible using their SMART phones of IPADS, tablets, and enjoy the service. In fact, I know a minister that has his IPAD in his hand when giving the message, instead of the Bible. The key to all of this is RESPECT for one another.
Thank you Carlton for the article. The botton line is this, if an editorial doesn't speak the belief of the individual that is reading it, there will certainly be opposition whether you are to the left or right. Why should the article speak of something "bad" about Islam. He made a point, inocent people of dead because of a very stupid movie. Now, whether the movie itself is the reason for these attacks and lost of life, or an opportunity, remains to be seems. There is no need for an argument with regards to President Obama. Those that hate him, hates him, period, and those that don't don't. Those that will vote for him will, and those that won't will not, simple and plain. There has been, and never will never be the perfect president that represent ALL the people, regardless of their socio-economic background, race, income, etc. But, rather than take the time to read and know the truth, some people would rather take what ever Rush Limbo and a few others say and believe, apparently they are their gods. The election is not about truth, nor the best person for all people, but mainly about President Obama being a one term president. If he loses, many, many will be happy, while other will be disappointed. But, for Obama his life will go on, and he and his family will reap all the reward and benfits of have been President of the United States. Now, for the rest of us, what will tha being....Only time will find out whether Medicare will change, or families that need health insurance no long has it, or whether anyone that make less than $250.00 a year will be in the soup line.
It is a very sad story, and his physical death may not have ended his life of hell. 24- years old, still a young man that should have been doing something better and good with his life. The newspaper article sends a terrible message, and attention need not come with this type of life style. I offer my sympathy to the family for their loss. But, it will be a good time for this young man's family to begin the process of trying to make something good come out of his death as a result of gang participation. Begin to speak to his friends, and other potential gang members and convey to them the pain of their loss of a life wasted. Maybe seeing the tears of a mother, father, sister, brother, or grandparent will reach the core and the heart. And if nothing else, if one young man or woman turn away from the gang life style and give his/her life to Jesus, the angels will rejoice. Life on earth is not the end. There is eternal life, either in heaven or hell. One might might ask, who says, and I repsond the Word of God, and if that is not enough to convince anyone, my only other recommendation would be to die, and find out. But, that will be taking a gamble, because those who have died before hasn't returned to say otherwise.
