Nous_Defions 1 day, 1 hour ago on Albany to give dog ordinance more bite

Walt, I agree but we have some homes in our neighborhood that are rental houses. There is a new family that moved in a home 3 streets north of us who owns and walks an agressive dog. Should that dog get loose and attack, I doubt they have liability insurance to cover the damage that dog might cause. I wonder how that could be addressed?

Please don't confuse the new McGregor building in the industrial park across from the airport with the old building beside the Post office on south Slappey. This article is about the Slappey location.

What will finally come out is there was not a great deal of research by Mr. Pollard. This industrial building is at least 40 yrs. and not up to modern fire and electrical codes. And in it's current state not suited for a commercial building serving the public. My guess that it will take at least $250,000 to bring it up to code. I'll bet he didn't plan on that much money. Now the old Winn Dixie's in South or East Albany would have been a better choice for a indoor flea market. I wonder also what incentives the EDC gave Mr. Pollard.

Mr. Wright, before you post your next opinion on gun control, would you mind researching the current State and National laws regarding firearms. I would suggest the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms website and Handgunlaw.us. Your previous posts are devoid of knowledge concerning firearms and the laws regulating them. As an rabid Hoplophobe (meaning a fear of weapons and those who possess them) you should use some basic military strategy which is; to gather intelligence on the enemy in order to find his weaknesses. Good luck with that!

Mr. Wright, read AND comprehend my post above. NO ONE can purchase a gun online and take possession of it without a NCIS check!! There is no ambiguity in my post. Your statement is not truthful.

A fellow by the name of George Orwell once said: "Political language . . . is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind."

"Certainly some on this page would change their mind about this is law if a terrorist purchased a gun online and kills a family member."

There is no truth in the above quote. You can order a firearm online but it must be shipped to a Federal Firearm Licensee (FFL) which is a gun shop and before you take possession a NCIS background check must be done. That's been the Law since 1992. So what's the difference between purchasing "online", or purchasing one on display at a FFL, or purchasing one from a friend, or stealing one in a burglary. All are legal except for the last (burglary). Laws are only obeyed by the Law Abiding.not those that have evil in their hearts. If evil is your intent you will find a way to do harm (have you forgot Boston so soon?), why shouldn't we make a law against evil, Tony?

Will the Herald publish the name of the Judge, and please include the dates for the Felony Stalking and the Statutory Rape plea. Which one came first? Is there any way we can petition the State Bar to review the body of this Judges work?

Harter's e-mail conflicts with the official record at the Dougherty County Courthouse that show only one guilty plea for a misdemeanor statutory rape charge. A judge sentenced O'Neal to serve 90 days in jail and nine months on probation.

By pleading guilty to a misdemeanor count of statutory rape, O'Neal was able to avoid being placed on the state and federal sex offender registry.

Our anger and frustration should be directed towards this so called "Judge". "Judge" through the Law of Unintended Consequences you are indirectly responsible for the rape of this 14 yr. old child.

Sorry, Trudy that is not the truth, a M60 (if you could find one) costs over $28,000 if you go throught the channels Walt explained. Probably closer to $50,000 on the black market. And there is only one case in the last 20 years where a fully automatic "assault" weapon was used in a crime. The Bank robbery in Los Angeles in 1994, and those were illegally converted AK-47's. See the problem here? There was and is a Federal law against converting a semi-automatic to fully automatic. Also laws against robbing a bank, stealing cars, and shooting cops. That did not stop those bank robbers from commiting EVIL. Typical un-informed response is to blame the effect not the cause.
