Cheap labor stifles innovation. After the civil war Yankee farmhands went back to their job to find they had been replaced by machines. Everything now being done via stoop labor can be done by machines. There is to much inertia with the currant system.

But, but we have a 45% cohort graduation rate. That has to be somebody's fault....other than ours.

Every once in a while when I talk to friends up north I will read excerpts of articles about giveaway programs from the Herald. After two or three they will protest that I am making it up. Most people in the country honestly don't know the extent of welfare. Welfare encompasses far more than a check every month. $10+ million to remodel a $2.5 property. $30 per month average rent. Only half of the properties paying taxes. About then they say,"that is enough of those stories".

The absolute worst thing about this report is this illegal alien voted!! I would want to know where he voted and who was in charge of verifying his citizenship.

Oh poop! This regime sends instructions to the Mexican government telling them how their citizens who sneak into the US can apply for food stamps and other freebies. I have seen estimates where mid 40% of illegal immigrants are on various welfare programs. And yesterday the Senate passed a bill to make them, and their families still in Mexico, citizens! This is one hand waving the three scandals while the other hand is trying to create 30 million democratic votes. Despicable isn't even good enough.

I have heard this since the sixties and I always thought it was a good idea. I was clueless when it came to fashion and a uniform would have relieved me of those bad decisions. Those who have gone into the military can relate. All of these guys, farmers, hoods, hippies etc. went into the barber/clothing process and the standard issue recruit came out. There were several reasons to make everyone the same and one of them was to downplay individuality. You were there to learn.
