Wow, I read the comment "only serves to penalize the private citizen for selling his/her private property to another." I have to ask what effect does it have on the private citizen, it picks up a tax on the sale. It has no effect on ownership. The fee is paid by the user not the seller. I must be missing something where do you see that it penalizes a private citizen or negatively effects their private property. This comment baffles me, and would love for you to explain. What is your solution? Or would you prefer that casual sales continue because you purchase your vehicles that way. You receive benenfit individually but not everyone does. The last time I checked you are responsbile for reporting casual sales and use even if tax is not collected at the time of sale. I assume that all of us have done just that when purchasing non taxes items and reported that as such?

I have to ask do all of you live in Lee County...because if not I have yet to see where you hammered Mr. Dukes or Mrs. Fullerton about this same bill. If it is so bad why not belittle all the politicians in our area. If you live in Dougherty County Rynders doesn't represent you anyway. I am assuming of course that you read the entire bill and knew before commenting the other items attached to this bill; such as cost saving measures for manufacturers located in Albany, among others?

Perhaps some of you should ask the herald for the archive information. They actually did a story on why the gentleman left Lee County. That might resolve the question, but if you were the one responsible for taxpayer money and everyone today wants transparency why would you not want everything above bar. That includes trying to save the county money by selling from your individually owned company to them. It doesn't pass the smell test and could be perceived as a conflict of interest. Why put yourself or the entity in that precarious position?
