Sisruby - I know it does not seem like it in the DCSS but the children are being exposed to a lot more at younger ages in school now. The key word is "exposed". I am not saying they are learning the material. To learn it, you must study. That is where we are falling short.

People believe in freedom of speech until they disagree with their "speech".

Williams-Brown is not the brightest of individuals. Are those the best answers she can come up with??? Not following policy is an open invitation for a major lawsuit. If a teacher did not follow policy regarding student situations, that teacher would be an open target for a lawsuit by the child or his/her parents. It amazes me that people can get voted into office when they are completely incompetent at what they do. WB is also responsible for getting Murfree hired. She has also abstained from many important votes. Not the brightest bulb in the house.

Sixty 1 year, 11 months ago on Wright: CRCT nonrenewals are all part of a ‘witch hunt’

This is why racism is still around. To all of the black readers who read this, you guys are the ones that have to stop people like Wright. Whites can call it like they see it all day long but the black community will not listen because the message is coming from "white" people. Here you have a man that is justifying why someone cheated. In his eyes, the teachers and administration had a "right" to cheat. Everyone knows that cheating is wrong. The black community needs to come out and shut this guy up. He states that the teachers cheated because they were trying to give the kids "hope". Well i guess that makes breaking the law ok!!! Children don't get hope because they were given something that they did not deserve. That is the problem with society. If we would start demanding perfection and hard work, that would give kids hope. Quit letting kids slide by. Does Wright realize that the DCSS is 95% black? To my knowledge, they have not hired a white administrator in over 3-4 years. The majority of the BOE is black, and the only white administrator downtown was just demoted. Will someone tell him that blacks are running the show at the DCSS. I know racism exists but it exists on both sides. I will tell you that Wright's words makes every white person in Albany just shake their head and wonder how this person could ever have been thought of as a "leader".

If I hear another elected official say something about "That's the best way of ensuring that every citizen pays their fair share", I am going to scream. Duffy is a moron if he thinks that by adding the trash bill to the tax bill is the best way to ensure "citizens pay their fair share". That would be the property owners paying "more than their fair share". Adding the trash bill to taxes is another way of making property owners pay and not necessarily the residents. Tons of people rent. For those homes, the owner and not the resident would have to pay. It is true that the owner would pass that cost along to the rentor but there lies another problem. Trying to get many rentors to pay rent is like pulling teeth. If they don't pay, they will usually get 5-7 free months rent before they can be evicted. I do understand that taking legal action would get very expensive. I do think that once people knew that the county will pursue legal action, they will pay their $23 a month. I would also make sure the non-payer's names were posted in the paper. Let's make sure that everyone knows who is not paying. In a small community, that kind of stuff is pretty embarrassing.

Those drug "regulations" have really kept the drugs off the street. Criminals don't care about laws or regulations. That's why they are "criminals". Only people who respect laws and regulations would be without guns if restrictions were put in place. Most people who are carrying guns do not have a permit to carry a gun, so in reality, they are breaking the law already.

Wrong coach - This is not a dead issue. A paper reporting on where the investigation stands now is news. I know you want it to be a dead issue but that does not make it so. This is not just local news but it is national news.
