Fugitive Bobby Smith captured December 9, 2013
Alright! Some great news! Let's keep the train moving. How about tweeting some good news now!!!
Kudos to the Herald for making this effort! Time to get rid of the weight that's dragging us down.
Congratulations Pam! You are in great company!
The truly sad part of your statement is that it only strengthens the argument for the base to go away. Your statement isn't true for the 99% of the folks that work out there BUT it's folks like you that make statements that are short sighted and hypocritical. The very base that feeds this community and has Marines (both active and civilian) who deploy and go into harms way to serve their country. I suppose based on your brilliant statement that your life would be much better off here without the base.
The base is a reflection of society. To somehow think that just because they work on the base there aren't any bad apples is short sighted. Any place you have a ton of equipment and are undermanned then there are opportunities for fraud. It's bad people doing bad things while a majority are doing the right thing by trying to be good stewards.
Great job Marines!!!
I don't know Ms. Smith BUT I do know Dr. Freeman. I suspect that Ms. Smith didn't do her job very well and when confronted instead of doing what she was supposed to do started pointing fingers at others..........That doesn't sound familiar......
Ignorance... Using X for XMas as an abbreviation for Christmas has been around for at least 1,000 years. What's funny is that the X is Greek for Chi (the first letter of the Greek word for Christ) In fact one of the earliest christograms used to identify Christians was XP (Chi Rho). An educated Christian isn't insulted by this abbreviation nor should we be insulted by the knucklehead who decides to tell us Happy Holidays thinking they've somehow changed the meaning. Ironically saying Happy Holidays is the same as saying Happy Holy day. So the idiot who thinks they are taking Christ out of Christmas by wishing me a Happy Holy day is doing nothing of the sort and just showing his/her ignorance. Likewise those of my fellow Christians who want to believe the myth and promulgate X'mas as some sort of conspiracy to remove Christ from Christmas show theirs.
Commercialization on the other hand does water down the event but in the end the reasons for celebrating Christmas comes from within and if you are a believer than it's all about Christ no matter what anyone says or does. Only God can convert so why get upset when someone who's lost can't figure that out?
........So Merry Christmas, Happy Holy Day, Happy X'mas. Happy XP Day!
;-) Jesus loves you!
Patsy is definitely one of SW Georgia's jewels. My experience with her has been superb. Congratulations Patsy!
Definitely was a good time. Thanks to the base for putting this on. Hopefully this will grow.
