Obviously you've never talked to anyone walking around on Front Street in downtown Albany. We do have tourists who visit this city, for one reason or another.

TamewRod 2 years ago on City to commission statue of Nelson Tift

Wow, a statue of Nelson Tift? Ok... A simple plaque with a description and picture would make more sense, but let Albany continue its string of odd decisions. From the standpoint of national significance the only other Albany native deserving of a statue besides Ray Charles would be Alice Coachman. No one would know or care who Wallingford Riegger is; nor Harry James, for that matter, and he only lived in Albany for a matter of days.

The civic center opened in 1983. It's 29 years old. No venue that size in a city the size of Albany can attract big name acts anymore. It just doesn't happen. Thankfully we have the Panthers to keep the facility going, for part of the year, anyway.

This is a service that is long overdue for Albany. Surely the city can find a way to make this work.

I don't care for these outside agitators coming in and spouting their progressive ideas. In Albany we let our aging structures rot for years, then when everyone is sick of looking at them we tear them down. That's the way we've always done it, and it's part of what makes this city great.

The two sweetest, most gentle dogs I've ever seen in my life are pit bulls. There is nothing wrong with the breed, just the people who train them to be killers.

How nice to see the city cemeteries being discussed. They are an invaluable part of Albany's history and are always well maintained.
