Agreed, but it is sadly humerous that this was published on Wed concerning the changing enviornment of education in Doughtery county and no one has an opinion by Friday....but wow are we fired up about Auto taxes.

Tonto 1 year, 2 months ago on Pew poll results raise concerns for churches

Funny old world. Church folk think their church is too concerned about money...guess they think the power company doesn't charge the church, the Pastor works for free, the flowers on display grew there. I reckon the "cleaning faries" come in at night to clean-up. They like the choir robes and candles...must have been donated. A church's roof never needs fixed, pipes don't go bad and it is just naturally cool in there during the summer (lucky folks). No insurance needed in case some one falls/slips or otherwise hurts themselves on church property cause no one would hold a church liable, right? Missionaries must get government grants...wait; church vs state..probably not. The food we prepare to serve the homeless was dropped off already cooked by concerned folks in the wee hours of the morning. The same folks who decry the church asking for money demand full accountability and all the "buisness' management required to ensure "their" money is spent as they feel it should be.

Unbelieveably stupid pick of a squawk. do they use darts, draw out of a hat or just get the lowest IQ in the room to choose?

Tonto 1 year, 2 months ago on There’s no excuse for leaving dog outside

Selective reading strikes again. This article was about neglected dogs...abandoned in all but name. Not large dogs, not furry dogs, but dogs that the owners have no interest in. Something that most of the replies apparently did not comprehend as they all extoled the virtues of thier particular dog breed and how they interact with them.

Great, take issue with an unfair/uniformed sterotype and then slide your own into the story as if that is the one exception to the rule.

B4it, got yer back partner. This was tried in the media using a picture of the victum several years old to further inflame sentiments of the "child" being shot...how could that sweet smile be a threat?. First reports even claimed it was a racist incident because the shooter was white...then had to backtrack when it turned out to be hispanic but they made it about race anyway. Suppress the victum's junivle incidents as "not relevent". Then the shooters team started with the choir-boy routine and made it sound like he was Saint Thersa reincarnated, attacked for just "being there protecting the innocent property owners"..despite what the police told him to do. My prayers to the jurors who have to sort thru this to try and find the truth knowing that no matter the facts half the folks won't believe them when they give a verdict.

Tonto 1 year, 3 months ago on ASU’s fine arts building must not become a casualty

Lots of fine sounding sentiments and elegant words. Did anyone tell Mr. Charles as he was granting these funds that ASU was no where near the requirement for these buildings to be errected and any naming would be long after his death? If this was a sought after event and many at ASU were working tirelessly to see it thru how could none of them be aware the funds balance was eroding thru misuse? Were there no status briefs, power points, quarterly updates or just "checky-checky" to see what funds were being raised additionally and what the outdstanding balance toward goal was? Apparently the plan was to just wait and see if it rose to the top of a government list to fund with taxpayer money.

Must be the same folks running this trained with the riverquarium folks...give me your money and I promise to see if I can raise my own the next time...unless i just don't and ask you for more of your's.

Anytime we decide on a course of action based on a POLL and not a clear constitutional determination, we decend furhter into mob rule. We have courts to protect the minitorty view, not laws to erase it else women and blacks would not be voting, certain religions would be illegal, monopolies would control commerce. Poll numbers are seldom in the thousands...just acouple hundred; they call a "representative' number of folks usually targeted by the folks doing the poll to get the answer they want. That's why right wing and left wing can do the exact same poll and claim diferent results. The folks in Butte Montana answer gun questions differently than those in BelAir Cal.

Tonto 1 year, 3 months ago on Food Bank feeds South Georgia Hungry

Ya know, it isn't hurting a damn thing to feed the homeless, or the indigent, or the too poor for 3 meals a day for the family or the just downright greedy. The food is available, donated, prepared by caring hands. The cynical, embarrassed, desperate and destitute are welcomed in various venues across the city. They sit alone with the food they have thanked you for (and yes, they almost always do) and light up when you stop to talk, share a moment and touch a shoulder. Most of them could not qualify for a job if there were any to be had because of poor health, no education, lack of transportation or even appropriate attire to wear. God will sort out those who took advantage; judgement is not our job.

If you haven't seen the truly frail, needy, cold and hungry folks we do have walking Albany streets, you are just not looking...they are invisible to you as you look for the fat, greedy folks you need to justify your point.
