I just wish Carlton would acknowledge that a lot of racism that happens around here is reverse. We have blacks in town who feel that they are superior. I've never seen race relations like I've seen in Albany. I've lived in a lot of places and it seems like Albany is stuck in the 1960s where we're still having marches. I see the look of contempt in their faces when they see me on the street. I hear it in their voices when I hold a door open for them and I say a cheerful, "you're welcome!" when they do not thank me.
I don't judge by skin color, but I do judge you when you're wearing pants down around your knees, not graduating high school and have 4 children by the time you're 20, none of whom you are paying for. I'll have to admit that yes, I do feel superior to those individuals.
That would seem like we were disenfranchising a segment of the population from voting. Mustn't do that. Everyone gets a vote, even if you are a loser or miscreant and can't understand what's being done to us.
I'm eating bon-bons as I watch this. Cheetos are next.
I didn't watch the SOTU. I, like FT, watched Westminster and really enjoyed the dogs. I didn't like the Affenpinscher either; I prefered the Old English Sheep Dog. He was awesome. However, I would vote for the Affenpinscher over the current POTUS though. Dog treats for everyone and you're allowed to pee on folks if you don't agree with them.
I followed the news snippets the following morning and it seems like the same ole tired speech. He says the same thing over and over. How many times have we been told that the road to recovery is lined with federal oversight and funding? This is not the way that people become successful...personal responsibility and HARD WORK is what does. The left is afraid of that, because most of them don't have discernable skills.
Right, if the POTUS doesn't have control over them, then why all the Bush bashing when gas fluctuated under his leadership? It's all a double standard--when the GOP is in office, everything is their fault, but when the Dems are in office, they "inherited" those same issues or the folks on the left fall silent. The time to blame Bush has now sailed, even though the left continues to tell us that this is the worst economy since the Stone Age and they are making it right.
Same with the SS tax holiday...when that ended, NO ONE asked Obama why he said that there would be no tax increases. Technically yes, that tax was a holiday, but he should've come clean and said that the tax holiday was coming to an end, and more "investment" would have to be made to our future. Recovery is coming! Yeah...
This is why I go to Atlanta to drink and drive.
How terrible that this man got through all he did overseas only to get killed on his home soil. I really admired him and enjoyed seeing him on various news outlets talking about his book. I hope his family will be okay.
People just plain suck sometimes.
This is what I didn't get when I read it the first time. I thought that the tax would be on the $10,000. It doesn't really matter what it is that you're buying...you could be buying a mule, as long as both parties agree. If an idiot wants to sell you an 2012 Escalade for $2,500, then that's what you should be paying taxes on....I guess the government can't trust us. You'd have someone giving you a Bill of Sale for $2,500 to file with the tax office, when actually you paid $10,000, so I guess I can see the logic. Doesn't make anything better though.
I'm glad I just buy new cars, mostly for the warranty coverage. It alleviates the hassle.
Why is this article such a big deal? Is Carlton a personal friend of this man or something? He's gotten airplay twice in a month for something that could be easily solved. He also got a photo taken too!
If you have a problem with a business, complain to its management. If you have a problem with an employee, take that person's name and complain to his/her manager. It's not really that difficult. To paint with such a broad brush is ridiculous.
If he hasn't flown since September 11, 2001, things at airports have changed a lot. Maybe he should stay home and spend time with his grandkids.
I agree with Erin. There was a pit bull pup stuck out in a yard with no shade, no food, and its water bowl was perpetually tipped over. Called Animal Control and the dog disappeared so I didn't have to look at that poor thing chained to a stake 24 hours a day. I don't know whatever happened to the puppy, but it had to be better than where it was.
And yes, I'm the person who calls animal control when I see a dog locked up in a car outside a business. Sorry, I think that animals deserve to be treated with dignity.
