If anyone that reads the US Constitution correctly the separation of church and state is not specifically mentioned. The First Amendment prohibits govt. from establishing a national church and prohibiting anyone from freely exercise their right to worship. The Soviet constitution does mention a separation of church and state. Remember that James Madison serves as a congressional chaplain and opened all meetings of the House with a prayer. He authored what became known as the "Bill of Rights."
This law will lead to even a greater expansion of govt. by creating more entitlements. The costs already exceed the projections that Obama 's people stated would be back in 2010. The unintended consequences will become higher debt and less choices for the consumer. Most medical insurance premiums have already increased 110% since 2000. Just wait for more sticker shock after 10 years of Obamacare. Sanford Bishop should have been fired by the voters in his district in the last election cycle because he voted to increase the costs of living in S. Georgia. The Supreme Court was correct when it declared the law a tax bill. A huge tax bill for the nation!
He has a right to believe or not to believe in God. That is the purpose why God gives us a free will. We all have choices presented to us throughout life. Jesus is at the door but ONLY YOU can let him in!
I agree. This is a civil war and we should stay out unless American citizens are trapped there. We cannot police the world. Humanitarian interventionism cannot be applied to every distress if so then we should invade N. Korea and Iran. A pro-American govt. is unlikely to emerge in this situation given Iran's involvement.
"Principles are upheld in the courthouse, and values are respected in the courthouse. The courthouse is the only place all citizens stand equal. ... I hope you will see what I have seen and that is that good things happen in the courthouse." Well Mr. Justice I disagree with your assessment. I know that Justice is suppose to be blind but the veil is very thin. If you look at the statistics carefully the poor and minorities do not often receive the same treatment in the courtroom like the wealthy or the powerful. Also powerful corporations like Phoebe receive preferential treatment by the justice system since they are protected by the 14th Amendment. How can a corporation be considered "persons"? Your friend who sits on the bench at the Federal Courthouse is not impartial to pro se litigants especially in discrimination matters. I think you need to go back to law school and revise this statement. This is wishful thinking on your part. There is nothing fair or equitable about our current justice system!
Why are the taxpayers having to fund these projects? I bet the one group who will receive these funds contributed to Deal's campaign. This is just like the idea for taxpayers paying overrun costs for Plant Vogle's reactor.

I agree. A better system should be utilized to verify. I suggest circuit wide grand juries. This was placed on the ballot as a survey two decades ago.

We should go ahead and expedite the judicial process. I believe a jury trial should be the determining factor.

This clearly violates the First Amendment. Of course this reminds me of Tricky Dick tactics uncovered during Watergate hearings.
