Oh, geez! When will the powers-that-be understand that nothing is going on downtown and never will - lost cause! Those pushing for this money are only hoping for personal gain!! Nobody's going downtown in the daytime let alone at NIGHT! West Albany should secede from Downtown and let it continue in its path of decay!

I agree wholeheartedly. Albany is a far cry from the nice community it was when I cam here more than 35 years ago! Sorry to say, it's been downhill since that time. I'm sure every community has its share of welfare and gangs, but it's overwhelmingly in the majority here in "the good life city." I'd say it ain't gonna change!

I can't imagine anyone who would want to live downtown! Take a look at the Malone Tower and Albany Heights and I think you will find those people are welfare recipients and low-income dwellers. NOTHING IS GOING TO WORK DOWNTOWN - too much of the trashy element.

Yeah, you could count on the food to be over-priced. A meal in the cafeteria downtown ain't cheap! Might work if it were independent of Phoebe! Or, would be a great location for a Subway - and one could "eat fresh."
