Fugitive Bobby Smith captured this morning December 9, 2013
Murfree should look on the bright side, it's ASU Homecoming this week and I'm sure he can find a buyer for his nice Jaguar.
Great that they have the Cochran Collection but if you want to see Andy Warhol pieces, people in SWGA only have to travel to Albany. The Albany Museum of Art has 12 Andy Warhol originals in their collection and 3 are on display right now. The SWGA art community must not forget they have a nationally accreditted museum right here in Albany.
There is always someone that makes graduation difficult. Signs, yelling, air horns, etc. should not be allowed in such a special ceremony as graduation. Families can "show some love" after the ceremony is over. When people make noise they usually cover up the sound of the next graduates name and therefore ruin the moment for the next person. Each person should get the same treatment and not have their graduation ruined because some idiot wanted to yell out his/her child's name. Show some respect.
The high school and undergrad school I graduated from didn't allow any of this nonsense. They also went a step further and had police there to escort out any inconsiderate fool who attempted to make a loud scene. Maybe Albany schools should adopt that policy.
Wow. Wright, Bankston and Marks are clearly high up on the IQ chart. How Wright was ever put into a leadership position within the African American community is beyond me. The people involved in the CRCT scandal are being treated differently ... they are being treated like cheaters. For this so called "leader" to think allowing children to cheat or to throw out a basic curriculum test is absurd.
For Bankston to make the "pencils without erasers" comment is great for the kids to stop cheating but in this case the teachers were the ones changing the answers.
It is very strange that all the people being repremanded are African American, but I wonder how many were graduates from the "Havard of the South", ASU ? Who am I kidding, it's no surprise. The good teachers in this town can't get work because the schools are filled with teachers that have no ethical or moral compass. Maybe now some of the better qualified teachers can fill these positions ... as long as no cares that they may be white.
This community wants everything given to them. They need to put on their big boy trousers and get on with their lives. Their children need to learn that cheating is bad and has consequences. After learning this basic truth the kids and teachers want to cheat, fine ... but when they are caught they should be thrown out. The world needs ditch diggers too.
Riggins has been charged with 2 felonies that are directly related to this womans job. Riggins shouldn't be anywhere near this discussion and these BOE members should have called her out on it. It seems to me that none of them are "doing the right thing" ... this board is a complete joke. These people have no ethics and Albany pays the price for their stupidity.
Great idea! Albany's favorite past time is to keep funding things that aren't working. It's great to say Albany has a Riverquarium but you've got to know when to let go. This place can't sustain itself ... I don't think it ever did without funding from the city. Between the BOE, our wonderful school system, the glorious #34, ASU and our amazing elected officials, I'm not sure how Albany can survive. Albany needs to clean house across the board and stop making dumb decisions.
