True grit lol. False sense of reality is what this is. The city just got set back 10 more years. SAD VERY SAD! THEY TEACHING RACISM, its not the same as Sherwood and Deerfield I'll say it again. true grit lmao they got EVERYTHING they own EVERYTHING what did they have to overcome? Half of those kids going to UGA because of their legacy not their grades REALLY true GRIT? you don't know what it is to have true grit! When your moma lights turned off and your daddy lost his job and you gotta play sports to get a decent meal TELL me about TRUE GRIT!
History? History is the Camilla Massacre the largest massacre in Ga's History, where most of those kids Great great Grandfathers hung Blacks on the tree at the COURT HOUSE thats History. Westwood was built on Racism its not like Sherwood or Deerfield. The sad thing is this WESWOOD team will get more love in the city of Camilla than MB's 3peat team, because all the city's business owners children grandchildren or great grands go to WESTWOOD. Sad but TRUE! All this is, is a win for RACISM!!!! more years for the city to be divided
The question is how many blacks are enrolled in their schools without ATHLETIC scholarships? Thats what makes them a white school! Truth is ASU has talent so does VSU the difference is ASU is not developing their TALENT. I played for M-B we had mostly white coaches who had all black players we won more than any team in this area in 20 years because they TAUGHT fundamentals. How to tackle how to block how to run, etc. We only used our athletic ability on Gamenights practice was about drills form tackling wr drills qb drills. We would only do team for maybe 10mins MAYBE. When I went to a HBCU it was VERY different same type of team talent wise but DIFFERENT structure No one put emphisis on Fundamentals and WE LOST when it counted and I was not used to that. Their are some Black coaches that KNOW to teach Fundamentals but 90% of them aren't at HBCU's. ASU should really look into hiring once White leaves Freeman out of Brooks he is a GREAT canidate and KNOWS to STRESS Fundamentals and could recruit Great talent and he's Discipline!
Football and any sport those are individual players I'm talking as a team. Everyone can't play off Deion Sanders was a Prime example he played with the wr. Fundamentals will beat Talent any day in a team sport. With baseball how are you playing if you have no Fundamentals thats a sport where you have to have fundamentals to even play. football and Bball you can get by a little until someone who has both then you DEAD. Those guys are in the NFL as well and know the fundamentals just don't have to use them. We are talking college ASU to be specific they have talent but every time they play a school with Fundamentals and a little talent they lose, those be the playoff games. Another example on the hs level AHS sucked in AA because they were playing teams who were fundamentally sound but they had more ath's. Fundamentals will beat talent any day
Once they land their recruits they must teach TECHNIQUE and fundamentals thats the #1 problem with Most HBCU's they aren't putting as much emphasis on Technique as VSU North Alabama. Fundamentals will beat TALENT any day thats most HBCU's downfall thats why ASU lost to VSU. VSU stayed their course and asu broke fundamentals in the 2nd half they got undiscipline. ALSO VSU had Fabian Walker Ga's leading passert in HS and he was poised he picked that weak secondary apart. To me ASU has always had a WEAK secondary they have had good indivuals in the secodary but as a Whole they were Horrible and still are that front 7 holds that DIRTY BLUE down. They need to stop looking for tall DB's and recruit guys who can COVER
In 2004 Miles played Southern University and Alabama State with Tavaris Jackson, also Mars Hill 2 D1 schools and a legit D2. North Alabama is to miles what VSU is to ASU. I agree some what but those games are tough. When you walk in Tuskegee stadium or Kentucky State who also had a good team in 2004. Also Lane college was sorry but had a Jacoby Jones a true burner. The talent is there but lets remember HBCU's are getting left overs, most are execpt ASU asu is in a area where not to many have D1 chances like a MC ASU can get a Jessie Atkins who is a Star player but came from a small school and was over looked Thats why I say they have a Better chance far as HBCU's go. They are surrounded by small schools with GREAT talent. ASU was fortunate to land a Demetrious Isom who was a Fundamental Lb 3 time all-state and he lead them to the semi final game. They have to do a better job of recruiting they have to truly SCOUT their recruits.
You say we but I take it you haven't PLAYED at ASU, I played in the SIAC and I take it to heart by you guys saying they had a harder schedule so NOT TRUE in 2004 the SIAC played more big name schools and more ranked schools in D2 than any other conference.
dmyers as far as skill players MC had the best wr's db's and rb's in this area and ASU knows that they did sign 4 and are recruiting more. so lol is on you jack azz
Yes it was a melt down, but a stepping stone for a HBCU, VSU's only challenge is ASU. The difference in VSU and ASU is Coaching Fundamentals asu has more talent they just are not getting the best out of their players. Fundamentals Fundamentals fundamentals, will make or break you in the playoffs
cspecial199 the coaches done something they RODE the talent! I love BBALL and can tell when a team is talented and not coached. When M-B and Randolph were in their glory days NO 1 could say they wern't COACHED they both had talent and both were well trained and coached. In Mc today there is talent but its not being GROOMED, coaching fundamentals situations intagibles etc. That especially goes for Mc Boys team those boys have played together since they were 7yrs old but No 1 has taught them Fundamentals of the game since they been in HS. No way Mc should've lost with all that talent its Coaching!
