People were there supporting CFA not because of their values but their RIGHT to have those values. Yes, as Christians our Faith teaches us to "turn the other cheek", but I doubt every single person in line on Wednesday was a Christian (that's just a generalization). Your statement is judgemental of those that stood in the heat Wednesday to show support for something they believed in. Let the one without sin cast the first stone. And THAT is why people are alienated from Christians. Because we preach one thing and do something different - we our own worst enemies. We really are hypocrites. We tell gays and lesbians that what THEY do is wrong and yet heterosexual divorce rates are the highest they have ever been. Have we not forgotten that the vows we took in front of God promised to love our spouse for better or for worse, till death do we part? We should just stop and pray for each of those that stood in line and each of those that felt hurt by Mr. Cathy's statement.
Actually I did not see that response to Progressive yesterday. However, I have read it now and my response is this: anyone can pick out verses from of the Bible and manipulate it to be whatever they want. For example, Matthew 17:20 may mean one thing to you (which is obviously "I can ask for anything I want and it will be given to me RIGHT then") and another to me (which is "If you have faith in God, the things you need will be provided"). I can honestly say that in my life, prayers HAVE been answered, sometimes not always in the way that I thought they should have been but they WERE answered. The problem is when people assume they can ask for anything (for ex: the cessation of world hunger) and it should be done at the drop of a hat, but God doesn't want us to be lazy and sit idley by while things happen, he wants us to take a stand and use the talents and outlets HE provided us with to help those less fortunate. Don't just take single verses out of the bible and attempt to interpret them. You need a full working knowledge of the Bible. I bet you are reading Matthew 17:20 as Jesus talking about a physical mountain, but couldn't he be talking about a proverbial mountain?? Definitely! Jesus liked using parables (another words analogies) to teach lessons on the way we should live.
Just want to make sure I get this straight... If I lose one of my limbs in a horrible accident and I pray that it grows back and that doesn't happen you automatically assume that God doesn't exist? Sometimes prayers aren't answered for a reason friend. Whether it's because you didn't get that job you wanted, the raise you deserved, or whatever. God has a plan for each and everyone of us. And while I don't agree that he purposefully mames people, I do believe that he can use that injury to help bring us closer to him. Afterall, this life is not about getting what we WANT; it's about walking in the FAITH. Don't just make assumptions about one's faith and assume that we are the ones making the mistake. Why judge someone because they sin differently than you do? I have no judgement for someone being lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, etc,. - it's not MY place. But what's the difference in a restaurant mogul stating he doesn't BELIEVE in gay marriage and you stating OUR God doesn't exist? There isn't, it's an opinion.
The squawker doesn't indicate if they are turning left or right into their driveway. All the squawker said was that he/she had their blinker on. Was the driver going at an extremely slow speed with their blinker on for several houses? Did they put their blinker on and then slam on brakes to turn in? Not enough information given for me to sympathize. All I have to say to this squawker is: If this is all you have to complain about, count your blessings! Next time this happens, say a prayer for the driver passing you.
If you have free time and are willing to give it a try, this is an awesome place to volunteer. I had a great time while I was there volunteering and look forward to doing it again soon.
Although it seems logical that parents wouldn't feed their children "junk", many of these parents are not educated enough to know the difference. We need more education for these parents!

In my opinion, ALL political signs are trashy and do not belong on the sides of the road.
