Humor me with your superior logic. When Cal says that "If laws were enough to deter criminal behavior prisons woud be empty", isn't it a fair assumption to take that a step further and say. We have implemented tougher laws on drug use, murders, robberies, etc, but last time I checked prisons are full of people violating those laws. Does that mean we should do away with them?

@ Black_Falcon, I actually agree with you. Gun violence is multifaceted. More funding is needed to mental health, but isn't government spending a dirty word to conservatives?? Now watch yourself...

While I respect Cal Thomas' writing style and intellect, this whole stream from the GOP makes no sense. Let's not set up more strict rules on gun control because it won't prevent criminals from using them. Can't we think about that? Let's not set up more strict rape laws because there are predators that would still continue to rape victims. Of course, we're not going to eliminate gun violence, no more than we're going to eliminate poverty or terrorism. However, the ultimate goal is to MINIMIZE gun violence. If banning assault weapons can make it HARDER for criminals to get access to them, then I'm in favor of it.

Continue with the status quo. That's fine with me. We saw who got the last laugh this past election.

Where did I say that you posted anything critical? I'm just wondering why you're considering this squawk trollist when the Squawk Box is all about trolling.

You're being evasive. At least, Obama wants to protect the interest of the bottom 99%, rather than the top 1%. Wanna guess which group between those two is more diverse???

This is what the GOP needs to do to appeal to a diverse country. Stop offering examples of "people of color", such as Williams and Sowell, as examples of a party that is diversifying because skin color alone doesn't equate to diversity. Listen to their message. Is it one of hope and unity? Or is it a message of division and derision? Americans want to hear a message that is clear, hopeful, and positive.

It's amazing how any viewpoint that counters yours is consider trollist. However, it's not trollist to squawk about positions that demean welfare recipients and the City of Albany. Be consistent, Cartman. Are you saying that we should get rid of the Squawk of the Day, because 90% of them are meant to get a rise out of people? Things that make you go.... hmmm

Well, there were blacks, who supported Jim Crow, and felt that black radicals shouldn't upset the apple cart. While Rice and Steele on your list are moderate, those others are not. It's not about skin color, but message.

The GOP just needs to get out more and throw away the Reagan handbook that pandered to blue-collar, white males. The US is more diverse, so turn off the radio, get out and spread the message. Believe it or not, but that message can work with people of color. Maybe not me, but maybe others...
