As a patient advocate for the Amyloidosis Support Groups I have met many people that have had organ transplants, including one with a triple organ transplant (heart, liver, kidney). Because of the generosity of others, they are living good and productive lives. Sign up to be an organ donor if you have not already. It's the ultimate way to recycle! Don't take your organs with you to heaven, we need them here on earth! You can save a life by donating!
There are many Water, Gas and Light employees that have either passed away from cancer or have beaten the disease. Is there a connection, no one knows for sure but it is certainly something to consider! The EPA may want to investigate the higher than normal cancer rate among the employees.
I urge everyone to participate in this study. I have already signed up and filled out the online questionnaire. I hope the information gained by this study will result in a better understanding of the causes and treatments of many different types of cancer.
Attention Herald, You need to correct the photo for this article. I can tell you most certainly that is not John Brown and there is no rhino in the picture either.
What about putting a new transportation center on the lot where the Heritage House is? It would be close to those that utilize the services, it would be on a main corridor and it would be a few blocks away from the Albany Transit Garage. Seems to make sense to me!
