All three are part of the do nothing congress...lots of lip service...little action.
How sad...do I detect political grandstanding by Comm Hayes on the issue of library closings? He is a member of the Co Finance Committee and was privy to all Department Head budget requests well before the announcement of library branch closings. Perhaps he didn't pay attention or do his due diligence during the budget formulation process. To act suprised during a City Comm meeting smacks of political grandstanding.
How sad that Dr Murfree just doesn't get it. It is very obvious that his past performance at ASU set the stage for what in his mind is acceptable performance, yet in reality is substandard performance and a detriment to the DCSS, our community and our children. This is what happens when the bar is lowered and the system produces individuals such as Dr Murfree...perhaps a good person...but one who doesn't have a clue that he is in way over his head and would do us all a service by resigning.
So sad...that I applaud the enthusiasm of Mr Richards...yet I am saddened that we continue to perpetuate to the "entitlement society" that we will take care of their every need...or in most cases...lazy and greedy desire. Mr Richards' rationale that he is currently providing meals so that we will have "healthy and productive children" to serve our military is utter foolishness. The "frozen hot dogs, hamburger patties and chicken nuggets" are a far cry from providing healthy food and surely aren't teaching families what the proper types of foods are for healthy families. Where does it end?
So sad...that the Cast of Clowns (better known as the City Commission) feel that they can run the WG&L Commission better than it is currently run. With the likes of Comm Pike, whose fiscal incompetence is just coming to light, and Comm Postel, who would hand out jobs and contracts based on race, it would be a real fiasco and end up costing the citizens down the road. What should be done is an evaluation of the duplication of services that exist in the HR and IT areas, and take appropriate action to meld them into departments that support both entities. Ms Mayor is the Chairman of the Board of WG&L. What is her stand on this issue?
How sad...Do I detect perhaps some political grandstanding on the part of Comm Hayes? He sits on the Finance Committee and is privy to in-depth briefings and analysis of funding for each and every Department in the County during the budget formulation process. He had opportunity for direct involvement in the initial funding decisions for the library. So...we have either the political grandstanding...or the possibility that Comm. Hayes didn't due proper due diligence as a member of the Finance Committee during the months leading up to budget approval. Which is it Mr Hayes? The bottom line is that an analysis of usage of the two closed branches would reveal that they were merely a free internet cafe for a small group of citizens...most of which are part of the entitlement society.
Weaver's total lack of even a smidgen of ethical values is indicitive of the mindset of the majority of Albany citizens. The Cast of Clowns (better known as the City Commission) now has another opportunity to get rid of this bozo as a judge...if any of them has the fortitude to publically start the process.
