J.D. Please publish the studies and reports which claimed the Riverquarium would be self-sufficient. Please publish the names of the authors. These people are either crooks or incompetents and should be barred from future city work.
It's hilarious that Commissioner "Politically Correct" Marietta wrote a personal check in support of this nonsense. For once, he wasted his own money.
It is amazing to me that the Herald quotes people who just don't understand why some are so "negative" about Riverquarium. Maybe Ms McAfee (a society crank presiding over the decline of our school system while sitting on the school board) should recall that it was Riverquarium promoters like herself who promised that it would be self-supporting in the first place.
Facade grants. Sound familiar?
Of course Mr Blair would support this. He needs a paycheck. Of course Don Buie friend and lawyer Phil Cannon would support this. He needs your tax dollars to rescue his investment. Who is looking out for the interests of taxpayers?
Is anyone else shocked that this boondoggle/Phil pill should come up the very same week the city pumps more money into the Riverquarium boondoggle/Phil pill. Yet another failure which was promised to be self-supporting and not a risk of tax dollars.
Don Buie attorney Phil Cannon claimed that spending vast amounts of additional monies downtown could cause possible residents to buy a cup of coffee.
The people who said this thing would be self-supporting were frauds. Remember that next time your idiot commissioners want another boondoggle.
The man should be flogged.
We need more whistle blowers, not fewer, idiots.
