Albany, Southwest Georgia unemployment drops for February

The unemployment number is very misleading, when the largest number in the article says 930 fewer people where no longer actively looking and this number is greater that the number of jobs + layoffs announce, The economy is still very weak.

Add to this sequestration effects at the marine base, the Albany Airport tower shutdown that are coming, consumer spending is going to take a hit in the area.

You should study your history. What groups have the highest unemployment rate? Have had for the last 50 years. Until 1930, both Blacks and whites had about the same unemployment rate. In fact, In 1930, whites had a higher unemployment rate. Then came the Davis–Bacon Act of 1931, setting the first minimum wage. The rest is the history you never learned.

I noticed that he didn't mention one word about the uncontrolled spending in Washington. Lot of good it does to raise taxes on anyone if you can't control spending.

Sorry, don't buy what you are saying. This is the slowest recovery since the great depression and I've lived through quite a few. You might get out and talk to the small business owners and ask they what is keeping them back. I've spoken with more than 50 over the last few weeks and quite a few more at the Chamber banquet last night. Many will not be here in the next few years if things don't get better.

If you listen, you will hear a common recurring theme. Most of the problems, come from our own government, and because of it, expect years more of hard times. At the current rate of progress, we've got 10 years before we can expect a semblance of recovery.

Why is all this talk on the Amendment about money?????

No one against this Amendment talks about education of the children. In most counties, the school systems are failing in educating our children, the same school boards don't want people to have a choice. Vote YES

As I listen to here tell why one should vote against the charter school amendment, so little was said about the children.

99.9% was about money. My question? What about the quality of education and the kids. Choice is better when you have a failing system.and you want your child to learn.
