I can imagine that Dr. Davis knew O'neal and has known him for a while. He probably knew him as a decent God fearing man because that's the persona O'Neal revealed to him and probably many others. I can see how O'Neal could have manuevered himself into a position of trustworthiness with Dr. Davis because more than likely they met in a social setting away from Dr. Davis' job of school Principal. With that being said, Dr. Davis knows he was wrong for not requesting a background check and Mr. Mosley did the right thing by suspending him. This incident is indeed very serious, but it doesn't represent the full body of work of Dr. Davis in education.
Congratulation to Coach Chatmon. He is a great coach and an even greater person. I am very happy that he is being inducted into the Albany HOF. He is deserving of such an honor.
I re-uped several times and they never game me 60,000. I wonder if they owe me backpay?
Nice run for Westover. Watching that game was like watching Westover 2013 vs. Westover 1992. We all know what that 1992 team did. I believe I mentioned once or twice on here how Eagles Landing would fare against any team from 1-AAAA. Case closed.
By the way,You probably think you know a lot but if you are somebody who is anybody, I probably know more about you than you do.
Look fool!! I saw Albany go against a Westover team that was one of the best this state has ever seen and push them to their limits. I was at Alexander Memorial colliseum in Atlanta when Coach Chatmon took his undersized team in a hostile environment against a loaded Marist team with Ga. Player of the year Matt Harpring as one of the shortest players on a 12 deep roster. I remember Albany playing only 8 players with only two taller than Marists' shortest player. They were undersized, outmanned, yet they lost a close game 42-40 with a chance to win or tie at the buzzer. You are a total fool to think that Marist in 94 was all about Harpring . A box and ! Are you kiddding me???! That team was solid from top to bottom. You need to get out more often and stop drinking whatever Koolaid they're serving on your side of town.
Maybe I overstated the tidbit about all 5 going D1. But my point is still valid and I am far from a fool. If you guys don't think that team is that good then so be it. But you need to remember that Albany played Monroe and Westover pretty tough this year. That Eagles Landing team is by far a better than any team that anyone in 1AAAA has faced all year. They will beat everyone in this region by at least 30.
Nappo, you must be very young or just don't know the game. Coach Chatmon is one of the best coaches in Ga. Don't you realize that Albany high cannot beat a D-1 college team. That whole team will be going D-1 next year. If Albany High had gotten into a track meet with that team the score probably would have been 150 -25. Losing by 26 points to that team isn't bad for a team of freshmen and sophomores who are severly undersized. Sometimes taking the air out of the ball is your only option. It's also a proven stragety that has worked many times at every level. That's why the shot clock was implemented in Pro and college.
Monroe's gym is fine. The gym is part of the Monroe mystique, like the old Boston Garden (not to be confused with Westover's gym) in the NBA. It'll be standing room only. At least the ref's won't have to fight their way out like they used to do back in the old days. My prediction: Monroe edging Westover for the championship with Albany and Dougherty being the remaining teams to get in state.
Concerning the cafeteria incident, many on this board considered Mr. James a hero at the time it was first reported.
