Walt, I agree with what you are saying but it has been my experience that if we wait until the kids are in school to teach respect and displine then it is already too late. Most kids value systems are already set in place by the time the get to first grade from what they have learned at home. By that time, you can beat a kid all you want and all you will accomplish is to further alienate an already problematic child.

My kids never went to the bathroom in school, especially high school. The felt like they were trapped for those few moments in time even though they didn't have problems with other people. If you think about it, there are no cameras and no monitors so what goes in in there is up to the students. If you walk in on a drug buy or someone getting high or "retaliation" then you set your self up for trouble when it is not your fault.

Jacob, If you look at current events, sexual abuse goes under reported everywhere. It's about power. The victims feel like they have none so why bother. It is often at the hands of someone they trusted or have authority over them. It often comes down to he said / she said.

What rock did you crawl out from under? Really? Your post is what is wrong with Albany. And if you think blacks don't have an agenda then you are as ignorant as you are clueless and racists.

Sherwood, you are correct, there are a few, a VERY few, who are innocent of the crimes for which they are accused. Having said that, Jail, prison, whatever you want to call it should be the LAST place you would ever want to visit. When we have career criminals that don't worry about jail, our jails are doing something wrong. There should be no cable TV or any other "comfort" items. Just a cell, 3 hots and a cot.

My first thought was this is another hatchet job on DCSS. If it is like everything else, there is probably very little the school can say about the students, especially for an article like this.

Bored or not, there is no excuse for bad behavior. Are we supposed to excuse the kids that break into our homes this summer because they are bored? I'm sure some of what she got, she deserved.

There are always other educational options. It is just a matter of what you are willing to do to get it.

Sister, That is why I hate the practice of letting someone retire instead of showing them the door. We will continue to pay for it sins for as long as he lives. It cheapens the retirement of everyone else when you let this sort of thing happen.

Really, Sister? Remember she is an actress. She is playing to try to get you to forget that she really thinks she is better than the rest of us. She showed who she really is that night on the side of the road. She had no business out of the car to begin with. It was about her husband. Obviously she doesn't think her husbands name has much influence if she felt like she had to get out and make sure the Officer knew "her" performing name.

I suspect the squawker is really sawing concerning church is taking infants and young children into the worship service instead of using the nursery. It is hard to have a worshipful attitude with crying and playing going on. The children can learn about God in a setting that is more for their level of attention and understanding.

FryarTuck, What would you have him do, fire the whole lot and start over? If he starts with the 3% that is the worst and fixes that, then does the next 3% and so on, you have an orderly and managable solution. DCCS didn't just go bad under the former superintendent. It had been rotting for years. Same way with fixing it. It won't all get fixed this summer. Put we can sure get rid of the sure enough incompentent folks first.

THe last time I looked, Democrats voted for the war resolutions as well. They like for you to forget that fact but it is a matter of public record. The only thing stopping a have not is themselves. Many of the haves started with nothing but a dream and a work ethic and made it big. Bill Gates and Steve Jobs started out in their garages. Computers were what colleges and research institutes used and look what they have done. That is what makes America attractive to the rest of the world. You too, can be what ever you want to be.
