When I graduated High School 30 years ago, my mother made sure she sat me down and helped me write thank you notes right after my Graduation was over! I also did that for my wedding. People do appreciate getting thank you notes after they have searched for the perfect gift. It shows good upbringing and that you really do appreciate what they did for you.
One other difference. Teachers get paid once a month. If you worked in the manufacturing industry, and they told you that you were going to work your butt off and only get paid once a month, what would you say? You wouldn't keep that job, would you? Yet, we have thousands of people out there that do that every school year. They're called teachers. If they complain once in a while, they deserve it!
The only difference here,is that teachers evaluations aren't according to some teaching guidelines, it's sccording to whatever kind of job the Principal thinks the teacher is doing. Noone comes in from the State to evaluate the teachers,it's done inhouse.
To Ms Lois, I am soooo sorry to hear about Jr passing! He will be missed! To Stephanie and Anita, your daddy was a really sweet guy and I will really miss his and mine talks. He was always there after I broke my arm helping me out when noone else would. He was always there when I was feeling down during and after mine and Vance's divorce. :(
If it takes over a month for DCSS to do Background checks on Interns, why doesn't the City take the same diligence? Then, none of this would ever happen.
This may be a silly question, but I'll ask anyway. If DCSS is trying to make cutbacks, why are they spending $700,000 to investigate all these teachers for something that is purported to have happened 3 years ago. I don't know about anyone else, but I have a hard time remembering what I did last week, let alone 3 years ago.
From one of those Honor Gradutes, thank you Sister_Ruby. It was worth all the hard work and everything that got put on hold while I went back to school.
For anyone that has lived in Albany for any length of time(before their 6 floor expansion),they remember Phoebe as a small hospital. I, for one, think it was much better when it was small. When they got bigger, they got worse. Now, all they care about is money instead of personal care.
