This was a very well deserved win. The girls have worked very hard. All of Worth County is proud of them.

I believe that the Reverend has really hit the nail on the head. Yes, African American young people are raised in the overall American culture however, most African Americans live in communities that are apart from the general White European culture and maintain a patois English that is distinct from Standard American English and this causes many problems when they go to school and are expected to speak a form of English that they have only been marginally exposed to. As long as Black Americans live apart from the general society there is little hope of mutual understanding between the races and cultures. Due to Jim Crowe laws and segregation policies, it is only until very recently that Black and White folks have been able to live among one another very much. Remember, it was just 1979-1980 when the Doughtery County School system actually integrated truly and it was only then by court order that they did this. We have come a long way but we still have a long way to go.
I hope that many read the pastor's book, it seems that he has many insights to share.
