I'm shocked that the Herald chose not to post a pic, since they do with all of accuser of crime. Shame on you Herald! O' I doubt she will be back to work anytime soon. She is not contracted but salary and can be fire on the spot. What ashame she could not handle her finances and had to steal from the poor students of this county.
Perhaps if all who wishes to apply for free or reduce lunch was required to summit a copy of their annual tax return with their application for verification it would cut out the fraud. Employees of the system are not the only one committing fraud in the lunch program in this county.
Amen three times over. There is absolutely nothing to be added. I will view both of these board as I do the BOE as not having a clue as to what citizens in this county need. I will not vote for anyone currently sitting on either of these boards as I do not plan on voting on any one currently sitting on the BOE.
Dougherty High is already consider a Charter School, so why do we need another one. Why not work on current problems instead of going around them. Whose to say the students who drop out of school will change their mind because of a new school. Each high school already have career ready programs within each one of them. Plus the school system bus kids from school to school so they can attend the school that offers the career progam they are interested in. It makes me wonder what back door agenda is really behind the Career Academy.
Why not take the money for this propose Charter School and use it to amend the problems in the four high schools we have already. Number drop out rates would not be so high if parents are being held accountable for their children attending school. Instead of making it everyone elses problem. I do know that there is a system in place to prosecute parents for their children not attending school. It is just that once again the school system refuse to use it unless they are mad at the parent. Finally, the last time I checked as parents we are responsible for the well being of our children until they are at least 18 and this includes making sure they have a proper education.
I am sure this money could be used to improve reading and math programs through out all schools in the county.
Seniors in DCSS already have the opportunity to take classes at Darton if their GPA allows it and they pay the tutition. They can also use F. Aid. I thought it was great to see that partnership. Those students miss out on a lot for their hardwork..
