The internet can be such an ugly place. Reading these comments makes me ashamed of my town. Yes Tosh's opinion is controversial and should have been left in the private forum from which it came, but many of these commentators riding their high horses have made equally, and at times more offensive comments. Since ASU's homecoming didn't bring the violence & mayhem they wanted so badly, the Herald delivered a scapegoat in its stead. Can you not see the Herald is using your ignorance against you? Like shock jocks, they stir inflammatory sentiments within the community to boost their circulation. Not one of these comments were constructive or intended to confront the root of the problem. Yet that comes as no surprise being it wasn't the writer's intent, nor would it ever be as long as it pays his bills. If a divided Albany is what the Herald's editorial staff wants, they're on their own. They should strive for better, but opt to wallow in the mud.
Can you not see Albany is in decline? Is power & control worth ruining the future of children who can't afford a private school? Our public schools are the first major hurdle to getting this city out of a rut, but you, like most of Albany, are too busy playing the race card to one up the other side than do what is best for the town as a whole. This is not leadership, but its representative of where we are as a city and exactly why we are failing to compete with the rest of the state, so lay the blame on your own doorstep.
Oh what a wonderful life to be blessed with the opportunity to live on the government's plantation. Wear the title proudly fellow Albanians, we are wage slaves. Property of the state. Thank your god for brilliant men like Postell & Marietta who lead our way to the poor house while keeping their industry of poverty full steam ahead. Is this not the promised land I keep hearing about?
Just don't ask why SPLOST isn't being used to address the problem as it was originally intended. We wouldn't want to squander a chance to invent another "fee", would we? Its only $4 today, don't complain. Next will be another 10% on utilities to make up for the Great MEAG Swindle. And lets not forget the 1.33 mil increase annually over the next three years. Oh, and the forced conservation of water is causing the price to go up, so water will cost more. Then we'll "expand the tax base" again, so the mayor won't need to raise property taxes.... Yes, where would we be without these visionaries?
Chris is a good guy who made bad financial decisions. Its unfortunate, but does call into question his ability to make better decisions for the city & taxpayers. If he arranges to make payments and stays current, I don't see the big deal.

No what he said isn't excusable either, but it was said in a private forum not in the newspaper. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Ok, so if I cherry pick all the things Carlton says that I consider stupid, can I call for his resignation and would he consider it?

Military men typically have only one answer to foreign policy. Bomb them. Not exactly a boon if you ask this conservative.
