CHAMPS!!!: Randolph-Clay girls dominate Mitchell County for state title March 6, 2014
Melissa Strother qualifies to run for the Dougherty County School Board March 6, 2014
When are you commissioners going to realize that most residents in Dougherty County / Albany live in poverty or almost in a state of poverty? You keep spending and allocating monies to accomodate the upper crust. Maybe you should trade places with the majority of the taxpayers. You could not survive, but yet you keep asking for more and more. This is not a fishbowl for tourism. Ride the streets at night and during the day and see what the majorities are - then go figure.
People need to slow down. Drivers are inconsiderate and wreckless. I'd rather drive in Atlanta than here.
We need to keep business in Albany. Why don't we use employees inside of the businesses to evaluate the various situations? Who better then these that know the businesses and needs? This is just one more area where our Commissioners are spending taxpayers monies needlessly.
Why not send all of them home and let the parents be responsible for their children instead of the teachers having to babysit their heathens? Let the ones who are serious about learning attend school.
There are other areas around the mall area too or on Ledo road.
We welcome any business here. The Field of Flags can be moved to another area and we can still offer a tribute to 9/11. It is honorable that we remember these victims, but it is more important that we remember with our hearts. People are pushing activities in the Riverfront areas. Why could we not have a Field of Flags lighted in this area?
These juveniles will be punished, but I doubt it will mean anything to them as to prison sentences. Parents have not cared what these delinquents were doing or whether or not they were living in a structured environment. Too much effort required as Sister_Ruby put it.
The RiverQuarium is what it is and I don't know how you can promote it enough to attract more visitors. It was doomed to be a money pit from day one. If you have visited once, I don't think you would keep going back over and over and there are just so many people that visit this area of the state. We are not a city of tourism. We are located in rural south Georgia in an agricultural part of the state.
I pray that those responsible for these terroristic threats and other acts of violence will be severely punished. The parents should also be reprimanded. Apparently the parents are not role models and do not have any discipline or values within the homes.
These delinquents are old enough to know what they have done and need to be punished to the max and parents held accountable too. These are not issues to be taken lightly. Seems as though the parents may not have had any discipline or taught any values in the homes.
