These welfare females who keep having illegitimate children for the benefits should have to go to work and not receive any benefits. Maybe their mentality of the responsibility in raising a child would change. Welfare assistance should be reserved for the disabled, those with chronic medical conditions and senior adults who need assistance. These males that father all of these children should be required to go to work and pay child support. Males who have 10 children by 10 different women are the epitomy of stupidity.

It is nice to be able to give donations. However, if one cannot give monetarily, volunteering to work or giving of your time is also rewarding. We each need to establish one worthwhile organization in which we pledge to help in some way during the year.

The individuals who should receive assistance are the disabled, those living with a chronic medical condition and the elderly. If the system were corrected to reflect these 3 groups, you would see less illegitimate children and more people working. It would possibly be a nice, balanced society.

The City of Albany has always done things differently. I am suprised that any food vendors would want to open a place at the Airport. It is not like the larger airports where so many flights go in and out. I would not want to work in a place with mold.

Our commissioners did not listen to the taxpayerss regarding the Riverquarium. We did not need another money pit downtown. It is time to do something. Shut it down along with the civic center. Monies expended for these 2 facilities is being poured into a bottomless pit. Sell the civic center to Albany State. I have seen catfish and turtles all of my life.

The taxpayers would like to see these monies used for projects to improve existing facilities, streets etc.. We have given enough to the Riverquarium, the Civic Center which is a bottomless pit with no returns, Thornateeska and the Civil Rights Museum. There are improvements needed in East Albany, Slappey Drive and Northwest Albany. Apparently a moron cannot recognize that older locations need improvements. The Riverquarium and the Civic Center are jokes. You need to be on the commission in a city that has a huge tax base. If you are unable to agree on a project, bank the monies until it is needed for emergency situations.

The taxpayers did not want the Riverquarium in the first place. We are not a city of tourism and who wants to go down and pay to see a catfish or a loggerhead turtle? We knew this project would not fly from the beginning. The commissioners are wasting hard earned taxpayer monies. Downtown is not ever going to develop as a favorite place to visit. What a mess you have created! If the Riverquarium is not self supporting by now, the doors need to be closed. Why does'nt the city sell the civic center to Albany State? We don't have anything that the taxpayers want to see or do there either.

The sanitary conditions of the hospital are the responsibility of Phoebe personnel. Patients need to be protected from unnecessary infections. It is the responsibility of the patient not to bring so many people with them when just having routine tests. Patients do need to rest and do not need so many running up and down the halls and seating in the waiting rooms should be reserved for patients and one or two family members. Hospitals are not a place to socialize or hang out.

There is certainly room for much improvement regarding the sanitary conditions at Phoebe Putney. Some of the areas and rooms look like they have not ever been cleaned. The furnishings are worn, walls are dirty and floors in some of the patient rooms are dirty. Some patients bring their entire households with them to the hospital and they may be coughing and sneezing and pass everything on to the patients. They roam the corridors and crowd in areas where they do not need to be. I have seen as many as 6 to 10 people with one patient who is just seeing a doctor. You can hear the congestion, coughin, blowing and anything else that could be contageous.
