Noone is asking anyone to merge into oneness....but the fact is there is definitely a double standard that continues. And that double standard is what keeps the our community divided. When people stop thinking there is a "white" or "black" way to act or think, and start thinking what is the "moral" way to act or think, and start thinking of others besides themselves, our community might actually make some progress.
Okay... I have to add my two cents worth...was at the mall Saturday, and low and behold there was a young girl (I would say 13-15) sitting at the nail salon. Her whole butt was hanging out. And before someone goes and tells me I don't have to look, I will tell you that my 12-year-old saw it, and pointed it out. It's not as if we go looking for this stuff. Sometimes the lack of common decency is unavoidable.
Hey! I've got a question no one has asked yet...if this dance style is an African American cultural thing, what about the other cultural groups out there? Are they completely pushed out of the equation? Hmmmm..... may explain the divisive relations that plague our community.
