ALBANY – The Westover Patriots held a 7-on-7 event Thursday against Dougherty, Randolph-Clay and Calhoun County at Westover High School in Albany.

The event began with Westover taking on Dougherty and Randolph-Clay going against Calhoun County and then the teams rotated  against each other. The teams also rotated players to give most of the players some time on the field competing.

Both Westover Head Coach Corey Joyner and Dougherty Head Coach Uyl Joiner saw things they liked and places to focus on during coming practices.

“I was thoroughly impressed by the defense and how they executed,” said Westover Head Coach Corey Joyner. “I really didn’t have any worries but I was very disappointed with the offense and the lack of attention to detail. We had some young receivers that made some great plays and looked impressive. This 7-on-7 was a great event and we look forward to doing it again.”

Dougherty Head Coach Uyl Joiner agreed.

“I thought it was a great event,” he said. “All four teams got some good work in. With our team, I just love the way we compete and how we celebrate each other. We are becoming a TEAM!”

“I think Jaquvius Hallman and Janard Walker both had a good day on offense and our quarterback David Burgess did a good job,” Joyner said. “What worries me is the depth at wide receiver.”
