The 'Good' in the City

Good, good, good

Here's just a sampling of the 'Good' in the city this week:

  • Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful had 34,444 volunteers in 2011 - they contributed 242,047 hours of personal service.

Students at Alice Coachman Elementary- 500 of them-each received a copy of "Touch the Sky"- a new illustrated children's book about Alice Coachman's pathway to Olympic gold in 1948.

The city has signed a new contract with the Albany Panthers-indoor footbal will once entertain fans at the Civic Center.

Somewhere between 400 and 500 sixth grade boys were in attendance for the Center for the African-American male summit last month.

"COURAGEOUS", The film about fatherhood produced by Sherwood Pictures hit No. 1 on the DVD debut sales list - nationally.

Daddies and daughters danced the evening away at the annual Daddy-Daughter Dance.

I am so sick and tired of hearing the phrase AFRICAN-AMERICAN. you people were BORN IN THIS COUNTRY, so that makes you a BLACK AMERICAN. In order to be an african american you need to move to africa and be removed from citizenship from the US. then become a citizen of africa. then move back to the US. or be born in africa then move here.
