"There were no violations of the Humane Care for Equines Act found on 12-19-11 at this location, so the case was closed".............the horse was moved on November 29..........a day or so after your inspectors were there! The inspection on December 19, 2011 was simply to ensure the carcass was removed...the horse was not there to inspect. So a horse with four complaints, and an open case since February, was never seen since that November inspection......apparently the inspectors "took the word" of the owner about the vet care, and did not ask to see the horse in his new location. I think we have all failed this horse. I feel the office held by the owner played a big part in this case, and it is sad to see. No one should be above the law, no matter who they are.

Thanks to this complaint, we will all never know where this horse is, or its condition. The actions by the inspectors in closing the case, and the fact that we do not know where the horse is located basically sends a message to everyone that all you have to do is move the horse and nothing can be done.

My complaint is not registered at all.

The case was closed on 12/19/2011.

1. Why is there no mention of yet another complaint on 11/26/2011?

2. If this case has been ongoing since February 2011, why would it be closed due to the fact that the horse had been moved and had seen a vet?

3. Is there a record of the vet visit?

4. Would you not continue to follow up on a horse you said was a 3.5 the end of November and has had three complaints lodged against it?? The owner "moving" the horse would make it all the more necessary to monitor. And now that we do not know where the horse is....we cannot make sure he is okay either. I asked for this information, and was told the case was still open. Is this information available now?

5. There is no mention if the owner was cited, or if any action taken at all.

A case like this with four complaints, I would think would require further follow up.

First of all, it is a gelding, not a mare.

When I told you the horse had been moved, you told me you were aware that the horse was to be moved...Now, in an open case, why would the owner not be required to provide that location, so that follow-ups might be done. You have a case on a horse open since February, and you know the horse is being moved and the owner does not have to disclose the location??? This makes no sense to me. The horse was moved on November 29, and the case was closed on Dec 19, 2011. So, after that November inspection, no one has seen the horse.
