ALBANY — As part of the outreach of the Scottish Rite Foundation for the Orient of Georgia, the Valley of Albany held its annual Scholarship Night recently.

Each student, either headed to college or already in college, applied through the foundation and received a check for $1,000.

The scholarship is renewable each year if the student demonstrates excellence in the maintenance of their grades.

This year the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Albany, awarded seven scholarships.

The recipients were: Casey Cornelius, Katie Dunn, Morgan Dunn, Cole Dziedzic, Lyndan Meshanko, Angelic Nquyen and Sarah Norton.

The award ceremony was preceded by a dinner provided by Gene Jernigan, 32nd degree KCCH, SGIG Rep., and the ladies auxiliary.
