BLAKELY — Officials with FEMA said that rebuilding specialists will be in Blakely for the next several days to answer questions related to Hurricane Michael recovery.
Officials said advisers will be available beginning Thursday up until Nov. 14 at McMurria Hardware and Supply at 545 S. Church St. Specialists with FEMA will be available from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday.
At the site, FEMA disaster survivor assistance specialists will be on hand to answer questions about registering for federal assistance for damage resulting from Hurricane Michael. Specialists can assist victims about their individual recovery, help register homeowners and renters who sustained uninsured or underinsured losses from Hurricane Michael and provide information on possible FEMA grants for housing and possible reimbursement for personal property losses.
Those repairing or rebuilding damaged property or who want to protect their property from potential loss or damage from future disasters are encouraged to attend. Disaster specialists can provide tips and advice on making homes stronger and safer, and answer questions about protecting homes from future damage.
Homeowners can get free reference booklets, in English and Spanish, on cost-effective rebuilding and repair techniques to make homes more resistant to natural disasters. More information about strengthening property can be found at http://www.fema.gov/what-mitigation.
