ALBANY — Flint Riverkeeper is moving downtown.

The Albany downtown manager’s office announced the move on Friday, the second of three businesses that officials say are planning to relocate to 102 Pine Ave.

Flint Riverkeeper is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation established in 2008 by local sportsmen, business owners and land owners, downtown officials said. They work within the entire Flint River watershed, which extends from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Atlanta to Lake Seminole at the Florida line.

The 10-year organization’s primary objective is to ensure that there is sufficient clean water throughout the Flint River watershed.

The relocation of Flint Riverkeeper will put it in close proximity to the Water Policy Center at the Riverfront Resource Center; the Flint RiverQuarium; Kayak Attack Adventures, whose location downtown was announced Thursday, and the Flint River.
