TIFTON — Concertgoers will soon have the chance to witness "One Night with Hank" at the Tift Theatre.

Marty Brown, a contestant on Season Eight of "America's Got Talent" and an artist who has performed with Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson and Hank Williams Jr., will perform a tribute concert to Hank Williams Sr. on June 29.

The concert is being put on by Tifton's McAlpin Entertainment and One Night Entertainment.

"I don't know that I've ever seen an artist with the ability to do Hank's music the way Marty can," Austin McAlpin, president of McAlpin Entertainment, said. "I knew this was something that I wanted to help share with country music lovers across south Georgia.

"I've done country music shows in Tifton for years, focusing on traditional country, and Tifton and south Georgia in general have shown me they have a real appreciation for traditional country music. When it comes to country music, especially traditional country music, no artist's music is more pure and at the forefront than Hank Williams'. Hank is widely regarded as the artist who really launched country music, and I'm very excited to relive his music and what it has meant for all these years with the folks in my home area of south Georgia."

While many tribute concerts involve the artist performing the songs of the honoree and even dressing up as a look-alike, McAlpin said this concert will be a little simpler.

"This show is considered a 'tribute' to Hank Williams, but it’s not the type of tribute show where the artist tries to dress up like them and all of that," McAlpin said. "It’s more of a tribute to Hank’s music and an evening where we can all relive and appreciate the music that’s considered by many to be where country music started."

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door the night of the concert. They can be purchased by calling (229) 921-0012 or (615) 579-9054 and online at onenightconcerts.com.

Doors to the Tift Theatre will open at 7 p.m. the night of the concert. The show will start at 7:45 p.m.
