Lila Mae Jones Luckie, July 15, 1929, passed away June 11, 2019 at Evergreen Assisted Living in Albany, GA.
Mrs. Luckie was preceded in death by her parent, husband and 3 brothers.
Mrs. Luckie was born in Sanderson, FL to Hance and Eunice Jones. She was the only daughter but was blessed with 5 brothers: Paul, Bob, Brince, Lex and Dwight.
Mrs. Luckie attended Baptist Bible Institute in Graceville, FL along with her husband, Judson Luckie. She was very active in the churches they served during their 69 years of marriage. Her heart was with the youth groups and women's missions.
A longtime resident of Albany, Mrs. Luckie retired from the Albany Herald after 18 years in the classified department. She enjoyed her flower gardens, fishing and camping during her retirement but most of all, Mrs. Luckie enjoyed her family.
Mrs. Luckie is survived by her 2 children: Mitchell C. (Rhonda) Luckie, Appomattox, VA and Randy (Sue) Luckie, Leesburg, GA, 5 grandchildren: Matthew, Cassie, Brent, Kyle and Glenda Wray, 8 great grandchildren and 2 brothers: Lex Jones and Dwight Jones.
Visitation with Mrs. Luckie's family will be at Kimbrel-Stern Funeral Home Chapel Saturday June 15 at 10am with services to follow at 11. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Down Syndrome Association of Southwest Georgia, PO Box 1142, Leesburg, GA 31763.
