Sue Spillers Salter
Mrs. Sue Spillers Salter, 89, died Friday, April 26, 2019 in Statham, GA. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 3, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Kimbrell-Stern. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Kimbrell-Stern from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Pastor Josh Toomey will officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Born October 18, 1929 in Lee County, Georgia. Sue was a resident of Albany, Ga. for over 70 years were she was a faithful member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Salter was retired from Dillard's Housewares Department were she was awarded top sales for five consecutive years. She enjoyed her active years volunteering and helping others participating with Meals on Wheels program. Her Golden Years were spent in Stratham, Ga. where she resided with her loving daughter Missi Salter. She loved playing cards, going to the beach with her girls and was her grandchildren's biggest sports fan.
Survivors include her children, Marie Sims (Tommy) of Leesburg, GA, Brenda Salter of Thomasville, GA, Thad Salter, Jr. of Oak Hills, CA, Zak Salter and his wife, Lydia, of Corona, CA and Missi Salter of Statham, GA, 8 grandchildren, Roger Stewart and his wife, Amanda, Jenna Strickland and her husband, Shannon, Mallory Sims, Katie Salter, Amber Salter, Homer Salter, Dustin Salter and Leilani Salter and 8 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Salter was preceded in death by her husband, Thad Salter, Sr. "The Champion" and a daughter, Deborah Salter Davis.
