Cult leaders have many traits. One definition of a cult leader is that they consider themselves above the law and moral standards set up by society and God.

This idea allows the leader(s) to exploit the members economically and sexually without repercussions. They often talk to their members about how they are going to do things, and it’s their way or the highway. They foster their theories on all of their members, and if the members don’t fall in line they get pushed out.
