The bread pudding itself is sweet and slightly spiced with candied pecans in every bite. The rum sauce on top is thick, rich, and adds to the decadence. Ingredients

  • BREAD PUDDING
  • 6 slice white bread, cubed
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2 c milk, scalded
  • 1/4 c butter or margarine
  • 2/3 c sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • RUM SAUCE
  • 1/2 c brown sugar
  • 1/2 c white sugar
  • dash salt
  • 1/4 c butter
  • 1/2 c light cream
  • 1/2 c corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 Tbsp light rum or 1/2 tsp rum extract
  • PRALINES
  • 1/2 c plus 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 Tbsp cream
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 c nut meats (I used pecans)
